So without a doubt, the Coro took it's place as my favorite smoke for now due in large part to the buttery flavor that showed up at the start of the 2nd 3rd. We just had a review of a JL#2 that was buttery so needless to say, I can't wait to try my JL#2 single.

What other cigars would you recommend that have that buttery flavor? Feel free to comment if certain cigars pick up a buttery element after aging etc.

By far the most buttery cigar I've consistently ever had is the scdlh la fuerza

Rich buttery tobacco, like a sponge cake

I have been having a hard time finding a single of that. They are out at the ****int store here.

Are they ROTT like that or do they get there with a little time?

For me they are like out right away, I don't think aging brings about a huge amount of change in the la fuerza

Even better! :) I had them on the list now I can move them up a few spots :)

Please take this with a grain of salt, as I don't really have any recent production of any Havanas, and this marque has few sizes left - I've always considered SLR to be buttery pretty much across the board. Not dripping butter, but that kind of mellow nose and mouth feel.

I know, big help......

I got zero butter from Juan Lopez Seleccion # 2.  To me, the San Cristobal La Fuerza wasn't "buttery" but definitely smooth, rich, velvet, coffee, molasses, white chocolate, marshmellow, whipped cream.  In addition to Cohiba Robusto, I get loads of butter from the Montecristo # 2 and the Por Larrañaga Petit Corona.

If you want something really buttery, try the Cohiba 1966 Edicion Limitada 2011.

You had to say that.

I used to like you... ;)

Just lit it up on the deck and thought of you as it felt like the cigar was dipped in European Butter and coffee. Where is @Ethernut with his pancakes?

("buttery" to me is more a texture, a mouth feel, than an actual taste/flavor, — and "creamy" as well )

The OR BHK 52 was very buttery to my taste… The Cohiba Robustos, when you get a good one, can offer this nice feel too…

For peanut butter, try a vintage Lancero… amazing

I agree with Cap Q. about the La Fuerza, actually all the SCDLH bigger vitolas, when aged, have a buttery texture.

I'd also add the Trinidad Robusto Extra although it's discontinued and impossible to find now…

Actually found a box of the 2010 Trinidad Robusto Extra and it's currently on it's way. :)

I think a full on site investigation is in order! Someone has got Piggy's pancakes, cause I ain't got nun... Fruitcakes maybe! No pancakes! Someone be mixin' their pigs and nuts!

Yes, I concur, the Cohiba Robustos can leave a nice buttery texture on the palate. And I agree with @Smallclub, the butter/cream sensation on the mouth and nose is the best way to describe it and is what I very much enjoy. For me, the Cohiba Siglo VI has a blend slightly different to the other Siglo series, for my palate, it's the one that has given me the most instances of a buttery aftertaste. However, I've found this more in aged Siglo VI's then younger ones.

As I write this post I am re-visiting the Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.1. Some I've had in the past year have been a little 'woody' for my liking but this one has some beautiful elements of cream to counter-balance the wood in it.

Normally, I don't tend to retrohale stronger-bodied cigars as I don't favour the subsequent flavours that come through the nose, they can be overpowering for me. However, this Epicure No.1 has been a wonderful experience retrohaling, and I've found the same is true with 'buttery' cigars.

Dammit John!!! You aren't helping!! LOL!!! I have a Sig VI sitting in the humi now. I am afraid to tryi it because my wallet needs me to love another expensive cigar like I need...nevermind, it's hopeless. :)

I thought I dodged a bullet with the Espy but I can't get it out of my taste-memory. It is such a different cigar than what I am used to. In beautiful woman terms, an Espy is Grace Kelly. Elegant, sophisticated, cagey...

You guys are loading me up with cigars to try! Thanks a bunch! I love it!

As mentioned above, Monte #2 can be very creamy/buttery.

I agree. It is a little more fleeting in a #2 for me but I haven't had an aged one either. I can't leave those #2's alone. :)

I agree with CORO and PLPC for butter.

I also think H upmann connie 1 has buttery characters

For me, buttery sticks out in the PL Belicoso. However, there wasn't much there beyond the butter, I wasn't a fan. Got some butter to a lesser extent is the PL Robusto, but more burnt sugar. Prefer the robo to the beli. Just my $.02

I can agree with this too. I find this cigar to have a meaty flavor that's hard for me to nail down but I like it. It reminds me of morel mushrooms for some reason.

I have some Scdlh El Principe coming in today. Maybe those will have some butter notes like it's big brother.

The JL#2 is on the menu for tonight or tomorrow. In the dry box now.
