I was asked in an e-mail this morning to recommend the top 3 Mini/Club/Purito out of Cuba taking into account the need for a rich, smooth flavour.

I actually don't smoke any of these formats so I am useless for an informed reply (more useless than normal :D)

For those who do smoke them, can you list for us your preferred ones (and maybe a base flavour description/reason why).

Much appreciated :ok:

For a quick after dinner puff, I turn to the Cohiba gold mini. The signature Cohiba Cuban flavor in a very short smoke. I only smoke these when I don't have time to smoke a bigger cigar. I'm not very good at describing the flavor. Among Montecristo, Partagas and R&J, the Cohiba gold mini are my favorite. The Partagas are a bit strong in the small size. I don't really like Cubs because they are a bit longer smoke and rather smoke a bigger gauge cigar.

Long, long time Party Chicos fan. Very old-school earthiness that's hard to find in even the premiums anymore. Have to try one to believe it. When's the last time you've tried one, if ever? You should--you might fall in love. The list shows you have them in stock. The price is just a little prohibitive for me but the 5-packs are awesome as an on-the-go 15-20 minute Habanos hit.

I understand the Chicos are either being supplanted by Party Puritos or Party Puritos are being added to the line and will have Serie-style packaging. They've recently popped up through some 5th Ave retailers in Germany. I spoke to Alex at CCW about it and he wasn't really up on the Minis/Clubs/Puritos enough to know what was happening with them but he was trying to confirm the situation.

Also heard good things about the Cohiba minis/clubs but never had any. The other Puritos can be a bit hard to find.

I'm a fan of the Party Chicos. For some reason they are harder and harder to find these days. For a ±similar old-school earthiness there are the Super Partagas and the Petit Corona Especiale…

[eats popcorn, reads thread] ?

Love small format Cigars @NSXCIGAR as I suppose that's why I like the Minutos. Some of the best smalls I've had were a cab of Cohiba Sig I. Perhaps it's that nostalgia I draw on.. (I know, I know Sig 1 is a perla.. close to the same thing tho) ?

Add me to the list. Long time Chicos smoker although since I ran out, I have not repurchased. Shipping on one box kills these items. I used to get a deal on 150 or 200 cigars at a time. These are fantastic little smokes. Having 5 or 6 boxes in the humidor is like money in the bank! -Piggy

Add me to the list of Partagas Chico fans. Monte Puritos a close 2nd. Not a fan of the RyJ Puritos.

As for Minis/Clubs, I generally stick to the tins of Montecristo Mini Reds. Having tried a good number of other Minis and Clubs, the Montes I mentioned above just work well with my personal tastes and are cheaper than nearly any other option for me.

No the specific sizes you're looking for, but I had a terrific and satisfying Montecristo #5 Friday night, and a deceptively satisfying La Gloria Cubana Medaille d'Or No. 4 today. Both provided 30-40 minutes of very enjoyable smoke. The MC#5 had a smooth and delightful toasted tobacco core with hints of coffee and nuts. The LGC was rich and smooth with a coffee and cocoa profile.

I have recently smoked through a pack of Cohiba minis and Cohiba Club. I prefer the Club size to have with a beer. The minis tend to get a touch hot. I also like the Partagas Chicos - the Partagas flavour profile in a punchy little cigar.

I have a great memory of standing on the roof of a shipping agency's building in Gibraltar while smoking a Montecristo Puritos and watching the ships in the Strait
