Vegas Robaina

Hey gang,

One of my salesman is trying to close a deal and the subject of cigars came up. My salesman told him the boss was into CC so the guy said A Vegas Robaina would close the deal.

Now I'm not sure if the client is knowledgeable on CC of just had heard of VR. I'm also not sure which Vitola he fanceys  but VR is one of the Marcas I don't have in my stock. Please tell me which other Marcas resemble what he's looking for.

I've never gotten along with VR buy what I can remember is mild leather and choc.

I'd guess if the person knows VR then he would appreciate any decent cc so might not matter much what you pick

VR are some of my favorites.  I smoked a Unico (LUB OCT14) last night that was one of those OMG cigars.  Love the marca.  I would guess a HU #2 would be a close substitute.  The 15's are smoking pretty good right now.

I'll overnight one to you, Mike, if that will help!  Believe me, it would close the deal.  Let me know.

Been smoking through a box of Famosos-they're just fantastic.  I haven't had a lot of experience with VR myself.  I agree with Monte 2 or Upmann 2.  Sounds like a case of client not wanting to sound like everyone else by saying a Cohiba would close the deal.  Which is cool when you think about it.  I'll second what Stogieluver said--if you absolutely need the deal I'll overnight you a Famoso and a Don Alejandro.  Give all three reg. production vitolas to choose from--go Team!

If he's heard of VR he's probably a little bit knowledgeable, not a well known brand outside of the mainstream.

I'm pretty sure I can find something VR to Fedex you if you need it to close the deal!

Otherwise I'd say Bolivar or Ramon Allones are close approximates....

IF it's not utterly time-critical, you may want to try and locate some VR Petit Unicos.  They were a regional edition for Switzerland (rarity may appeal to the boss), they come in boxes of 10 (cuts down on the cost), and they taste absolutely fabulous!

I just got a 5 pack of VR Clasicos and I smoked one of them.I was very pleased with that stick

I would agree 100% on the Unicos and Don Alejandro suggestions. Both are great regular production. To me, they are highly underrated.
