He's playing tonight at Gillette stadium - home of the four time Superbowl Champion New England Patriots. I'm washing my hair, so I can't make it.

oh mock all you like, but there is no human on earth who has ever been to a bruce concert and not gone out smiling, happy and thinking that the world really is a wonderful place.

So, what a real big shame you won't make it this time, Ken, since at that time you'll still be breeding over your report on the BBE....mock, mock...:wink2:

Oh, just back in Oz and he has yet forgotten about it....!!

EDIT: Just checking whether I perhaps missed something, but no, I had to browse to page 7 but it's still there - untouched!

i think we are at cross purposes - i assume you meant "brooding", not "breeding" and that was my, obviously inept, attempt at humour.

it is not forgotten.

sorry, missed it. was travelling from monday morning through to yesterday and saw no emails/forum/net/anything. apols.

i thought the previous tour hit the highest possible heights but then the last one topped. i do agree. adelaide was fantastic. the hunter, different but fun and then brizzy was the best i have ever seen. half way through, held a vote to see if we wanted the full album of the wild, the innocent... amazing. went a few minutes short of four hours. greatest concert ever.

by chance, when travelling these days, i just linked to the various downloaded bruce concerts and away we go.

Think I will download the jersey concerts including the 4hr 13 min one all good :D

I'm always fascinated by how many people are turned off to Bruce by his perceived political views.  Who gives a shit who your favorite band votes for?  I refuse to deprive myself of a living legend bc he happens to blab about his politics occasionally.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face...

I caught it in Buffalo and managed to get in the pit in Columbus.  You won't be disappointed.  I'm a relative newbie to the Boss (maybe 5 years a fan) and he tore the house down every night.

Bruce gave my dad a high five and I got him tickets for his birthday.  What more could I ask for?

agreed. very much. i would not say that his politics and mine align particularly closely - yes in some things, no in others. i could not care when he is on stage.

i've been to about 10 of his concerts now. can't remember him raising more than a few vague concepts over that time. he does not shove it down your throat at his concerts. he knows people are there for a good time.

i assume they'd be found sitting in parliament next to that fruitcake malcolm roberts?

perhaps he thinks that shakespeare is another NASA conspiracy. how the hell did we get him into parliament? i read, but i digress, that with our absurd system, i read he got 75 first up votes and then wormed his way in with the flow of preferences.

and i am allowed to hijack the thread - it i my thread!

Isbell is awesome! Great live performer. Goin to see his old band, Drive-By Truckers next month.

Used to love the Truckers.  Haven't seen them live since Isbell left, but saw them a few times when he was with them.  The 3 guitar attack was really something.

Capturing the absolute essence of a time, a place and an emotion and effectively transferring that essence to the rest of us is pure art, whether it comes from Bruce or from Richard Wagner. Bruce is no Shakespeare; he is no Bob Dylan. But neither of those guys is Bruce Springsteen, either.

Screen door slams,
Mary's dress waves.
Like a vision she dances across the porch
As the radio plays
Roy Orbison singing for the lonely
Hey that's me and I want you only
Don't turn me home again
I just can't face myself alone again.
Don't run back inside
Darling you know just what I'm here for
So you're scared and you're thinking
That maybe we ain't that young anymore
Show a little faith there's magic in the night
You ain't a beauty but hey you're alright
Oh, and that's alright with me

one of the absolute classics.

if you ever get to listen to a very early live version, before "Born to Run" was released (album, rather than specific song), it was not mary. it was angelique or some other name. forget which. but mary works far better. always wondered whether iot got changed because it simply fitted a bit better, or he fell out with angelique or took up with mary.
