I'm thinking of treating myself to a 50 cab for my 50th birthday. That's the list I was looking for! Just need to hone it down...

It depends...on the one hand I may opt for Cohiba Siglo I, II, III, IV, V and VI or if I'm feeling rational (because let's face facts, who's seen some Siglo III lately?) I may go for some San Cristobal de La Habana El Principe, Montecristo No.5, Partagas Shorts, Por Larranaga Petit Corona, Diplomáticos No.2 and Cohiba Robustos. 

Ok, after giving it some more thought, the idea of limiting myself to six marcas in my humidor wouldn't last long, I mean seriously, no H.Upmann or Ramon Allones?

I love threads like this! Sure it has been gone over a few times but I look at it as a future shopping list and to see who has similar tastes in cigars. Maybe they like something you haven't tried.

@Ethernut now has me completely sold on the Du Prince...

I like to lay cigars down for a while before I sample them. For the now? Like ROTT? Don't forget the 30 day rule, if only to get you RH correct.

Soon: 2 boxes of what ever Rob says are smoking well right now in a smaller a larger size.

Medium term: PSD#4,  Hoyo EPI#1

Lay down for a good long while: BCG, PLPC

 

You are in serious trouble, enjoy it!

Any stick that can elicit that amount of enjoyment is worth the sample price IMHO. 

Others have commented on the Du Prince being a good smoke as well so I won't hold you totally accountable. Hahaha! I promise to give you all the credit if it's awesome and I will totally blame @SloppyJ if it sucks. (I love randomly assigning blame)

Still an awesome review and definitely one of the best things I have read in awhile. :)

To increase your probability of success, wait for a 24:24 and for boxes/boxcodes the Prez has vetted. SOM/SON are my box codes  from ENE 16.

Exactly what I'm saying! He vets the tobacco, buy what he says. The list you have may or may not result in the appropriate exchange in value per dollar depending on the tobacco in them. Leverage the expert..

1x Sir Winstons or Siglo 6 (ARG Code) whichever I find first. (Spec occasion)

1x Partagas D4--30 days and kill with fire

1x H Upmann Magnum 56--Age mainly

Lots I would be chasing post getting these in the humidor, but you only asked for 6!  Have really been enjoying some fresh custom rolls here lately as well.

The more boxes I order and the more time I spend on FOH, the more I am learning to go with the "hot hand" and pick up what others (esp Pres) think are smoking well at the moment.  I used to spend a lot of money buying blind across the marcas because I wanted a good understanding of how each of them tasted, but I ended up with a lot of mediocre boxes.
