backbone Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Has anyone tried one of these recently? I was gifted a box and am wondering if I should age them longer before I dig in. Thanks
Nrengle Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I have 6 of 7 left at home. When I get back from this trip next Monday I'll crack one and let ya know. Last time I had one was a year and a half ago and it was incredible. 1
Lotusguy Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Had one couple of months ago. Hated it, like all previous ones. Ditched my 5 boxes at breakeven/slight loss. IMO, no amount of time will turn these into good or even mediocre cigars. Thick, rough, dark wrappers. Until very recently, they were still available all over the place - if they were any good, they would have sold out much faster. 1
backbone Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 You don't see much about them on the web. Well, I'll give it a go then. Thanks for the input.
CaptainQuintero Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I loved them! Been gone a long time now though sorry
Blakes Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I've really enjoyed the ones I've had. Great size too. 1
archosaur Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I am also a fan. Smoked 3 or 4 and all have been good to great. 1
Optic101 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Smoking well, no need to wait but still have legs to go. 1

(Those had incedibly leathery wrappers, indeed) The Short Piramides had a rather nice wrapper from my experience and was/is smoking excellent. I guess, from what I've read previously, there has even been some good consensus within the forum.
Smallclub Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I loved them and I would smoke them now if I had more. I don't believe they have legs for further aging.

Well, there certainly is a bit of variation, wouldn't qualify for PSP... but, hey, we are still dealing with EL-wrapper here. Tried to dig out the rest of my 2011 singles to check, but can't find them right now.... But as far as I remember, I had never been facing burn issues with them.
perkinke Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I went through two boxes last year and loved every one of them. I should find some more...
alpyigit Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Just smoked one yesterday . Have had better sticks but this one was particularly bad, in line with the description above.. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
oliverdst Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I had one a year ago and it was superb. Another one six months ago and it was medium. Maybe I revisit it tonight.
