Any NFL Football Fans With Season Tickets...?

Recommended Posts

Anyone here with season tickets or plan to attend some games this year?

This will be my 5th year of season tickets for the Raiders, and, uh, I picked a really bad time to start buying them. It's been a few small victories mixed in with a lot of incompetent, losing football. Because they've been so bad, though, the tickets are pretty cheap (relative to other NFL tickets). $225 for 9 home games this year (they make you buy 2 pre-season games :tantrum:) They're playing a game in Mexico City this year, which I was hoping to attend, but I'm not sure I'll make it now. Every year, I have foolish optimism, but this should be the best team they've had since they went to Super Bowl after the 2002 season. I am trying not to get too excited, but if things go well this year, they should be able to compete for a playoff spot. And if things don't work out well, the Golden State Warriors start in October right next door...

What team do you root for, and are you excited for the upcoming season?

Actually the wife and I are big Chicago Blackhawks fans. The Bears have not been that exciting either the last few years so I don't feel like we have missed much. This was from game 5 of the 2010 Stanley Cup

Denver Bronco fan...we shall see how well we do.

Since I am in Los Angeles I bought season tickets to the LA Rams. Same deal your season purchase included the two pre-season games as well. We will see how well they do but there certainly is a ton of interest for football back in LA now. If only we had two home teams!

As long as it's not the Raiders, a second team in LA would be cool. Tired of seeing this nepotism baby that owns my team trying to extort my county out of money for his billion dollar business.

I've never seen a football game at the LA Coliseum. I'd love to check it out someday.

I love my Browns but they are so perpetually awful that season tickets are a bad value.  I can watch them on a 61" screen for free, and when they do something idiotic that makes me give up on the game, I take my $1 beer outside and mow the yard instead of walking a half hour to my $20 parking spot and driving 2 hrs home in traffic.

In short, I'll get some when they become entertaining.

@Danimalia how close are you to Vegas? Seems Like that's where your Raiders are headed. I am not a season ticket holder but, I am a Chiefs fan. I think we are in for a few good games between our teams this year.

Ouch... If the Raiders move to Las Vegas, my fandom won't be going with them. Especially if the odious Sheldon Adelson is involved. Being an NFL fan, you already have to deal with a product that is contemptuous of you. Moving to Las Vegas because Oakland/Alameda County wouldn't divert enough money away from schools, library and public safety for billionaire welfare would probably be one middle finger too many. That said, I am not at all sure that they'll move. There are some groups interested in buying the Raiders and keeping them in Oakland, including one that has Ronnie Lott as its public face. Mark Davis doesn't seem to have much credibility with his fellow owners, and I don't know that he's competent to pull this off. Throw in the fact that Las Vegas is rightfully balking at the public cost themselves, and it seems far from a done deal to me. We'll see.

I hear that. Aside from the money, going to a game is a massive investment of time, and it's frequently disappointing. Even with the season tickets, I only go to 4-5 games a year. It's enough.

The Browns should at least be interesting with Hue Jackson as their coach. He had his faults with the Raiders, but he was an excellent offensive coach. It was an inspired choice compared to the re-treads, and mediocre coaches that cycle through the bottom tier of teams.

Not NFL, but i picked up a 6 game package for the Columbus Blue Jackets to catch some hockey this year. Went to my first NHL game last year and it's so much better than thd local team.

Live hockey is great. Some sports are better on TV, but some are way better in person. NHL hockey is definitely in the latter category for me. I'd love to get out to more SJ Sharks games.

I just picked up my Panthers season tickets last night. Been to a number of individual games but never had season tickets until this year. Here's hoping this year is as good as last year!

I've been a season ticket holder since Ditka was coach and even though I moved several states away I have kept my ticket. I make it home for at least a game a year. I can't tell you my seat row or number however I can walk it blindfolded. There is something special about getting a bloody mary and making your way to your seat in the Superdome to watch the Black and Gold that no flat screen will ever fullfill.

If you ever have a Blackhawks ticket you can't get rid of, I'll happily take it off your hands and bring the pre/post game cigars!

Those Bloody Marys at the Dome are fantastic!!

I used to love to grab a couple of morning bloody marys before jumping on the train to the Coliseum for the game. Then I'd hit the parking lot and my friends' tailgates. :buddies:

I used to go to a lot of Colts games, but now I generally avoid them.  I have a lot of problems with the NFL and the ownership and management of the local team, and it's to the point that I don't want to give either of them another dime.  But even more than that, for me the NFL is a better product on tv than in person.  The crowds are awful, parking and traffic suck, way too many hostile drunks yelling and fighting, long lines, so many long breaks in the action, criminally overpriced concessions, and unless you're in the club section, the game is just easier to follow on tv.  With the Redzone channel, I never have to watch a commercial.  Other than some bad announcers, the NFL is brilliant on tv.  It kinda makes me sad, because I was an unwavering fan since the team moved here when I was 6.  Going to games was one of the highlights of my year.  I used to love to tailgate and lose my voice at the game.  Now I'm just stuck with this overwhelming apathy toward the whole thing.  I don't even watch all the games on tv anymore.

On the other hand, I've found the NBA to be a great live product.  The games are faster, cheaper, easier to follow, and more engaging in person.  I've been a Pacers season ticket holder for several years, and I can't wait for basketball season to start again.  It may be due to the fact that I'm in a small market with limited demand, but even when the games sell out, I don't see fights or belligerent drunks ruining it for other people.  The arena holding less than 1/3 of the capacity of the NFL stadium means parking and traffic before and after the game are a breeze.

I love going to NBA games. I agree that the fans tend to be better behaved, and the entire experience is less taxing. I used to go to a lot of Warriors games, but as they've gotten good, ticket prices have soared. I haven't been to a game in the last 2 seasons.
