Popular Post subport Posted August 25, 2016 Popular Post Posted August 25, 2016 Let me start with the fact: I am not a Cohiba fan. Why? Because I have yet to find the blend I could rave about. To be honest I like it this way financially, hahaha. Obviously I would buy more if it were that good but this is not the case. I still like few of them and smoke 'em occasonaly. I smoked more Lanceros than anything else from Cohiba. Yeah I like long and skinnies. However today the Behike BHK 54 will be reviewed. Pretty much on the other side, right? Bought it from Rob around two years ago, smoked 3 so far. Never been outstanding. Wouldn't pay that price again for this, not to mention the skyrocketing price lately due to the shortage. I like the packaging. Fancy but quite cool. Punched it. The draw is fine, a bit open. No, it's not wind tunnel but I slightly prefer harder ones and more resistance. God, this thing feels weird in my mouth. Just too big RG for me. Did I mention I like long and skinnies? The pre-light draw gives me a very light woody taste but really really salty on my lips. Let's put this monster on fire and see how deep the rabbit hole goes. Starts with sweet hay. Definitely woodsy, very mild and smooth with a silky texture. Interesting citrus in there too. Further in the citrus comes in front and controlling everything. The end of the first and getting to the second third brings up light milk chocolate. The citrus is fading out and giving the leadership to the chocolate while it still remains in the background. Coffee shows up but not much is going on really. Reaching the last third there is no evolution whatsoever. The nicotine is kicking in a bit. Damn, I haven´t eaten dinner. It is good but not great. Well… it ends like it was. From a cigar at this size I would like to see more changes. Decent but pricey. Lets face the truth. I did like the El Principe a lot more what I smoked last night. If you were offering me a BHK or any cigar out of the four minutos left out there I would go with those. Without a doubt and hesitation. Did I regret this box? No. It is an experience what I would not change. Ever. Will I buy it again? Most definitely not. I wanted to like it more as I did but… The flavours are elegant, the appearance is gorgeous but far away from elegant with its size. Its a baseball bat. Not my format, not my taste. It is just not my cup of tea. Don´t get me wrong, nothing bad at all. It is just me and my taste buds. The first 3 pictures were taken last year for the photo comp with my pro camera. The rest of them are snapshots with the phone. Thank you Gentlemen for reading it. Cheers P. 6
zeedubbya Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Nice honest review, I kind of feel same as you do. Good smoke, but I'm smoking a RASCC right now which I like the flavor of better. Nice pics!
Dimmers Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Nice review. Not a huge fan of the Behike series either 1
miurajus Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Thanks for the review! You'll never know until ya give it a go! At least now you do.. And as you said, more cheddar for the long and skinny!
subport Posted August 26, 2016 Author Posted August 26, 2016 Thanks everyone. Mus, yes but I'll take a snap for ya. You would not recognize it. The main room is basically empty only my desk and the coffee machine left. It is quite cool at the moment. And will stay like that in the next 3-5 years because only out of town projects are going.
TheMonk Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Nice review! It's not uncommon for people to be underwhelmed by BHKs, specially if you're not a fan of the bigger ring gauges.
poolmar Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 i am sure i heard/read or told somewhere to never buy 2013-15 behikes because they never had any MT leaf due to none being about at that point in time
