Hi folks,

I just came back from my favorite Habanos dealer and he said he had something special saved for me. First it was 8 Piramides Reserva del Milenio in outstanding condition, for 20€ a piece (I think that's a very good price). He also offered these attached Partagas Diademas, which are the reason for this thread. What the heck is that run? I had never seen or heard about them. They read "XI Aniversario Tienda" in the Vitola.

Any idea what we have here exactly?

cheers

Never seen these.  Maybe the XI refers to a Partagas Encuentros?  They make a special band every year for the Partagas Festival. they slap them on customs and current releases too.

Just thinking - check out his going price for the current Pirámides Extra (ok, it's more tobacco, granted...) and then I would ask myself why someone would sell me, at the same time, the Cohiba RDM Pirámides for 20 bucks a bit. Just sayin'....

But perhaps he's still selling at OR-price, or is just in need of shelf space, perhaps... or is a very close friend....;)

No offence meant, mate, but the pricing just seems fishy.

Cause Spanish shops can only sell at the set price. Lose there license if caught charging more

What Pixa said. He is one of the most serious stores in the country, btw. There is no vintage craze here either so aged cigars are less than desirable here. I'm sure these are the real deal, no question about it. He also stashes a handful of 15 yo Gloria Cubana n°1, that kind of stuff. :)

ask to see the box.......

then get one anyway...............

Yes but 20€ sounds very low to me. In 2000 the price for the full jar was around 800€ in France, probably around 700 in Spain… and spanish prices have much risen  the last 10 years…

tbh completely I dont think the guy has any clue what they're worth. Theyre just "old" cigars for him and Im just the donk whos finally helping him getting him rid of them. But theyre real... i mean, the guy has like 20 boxes of behikes, ges probably the only store around with that many around to sell. :)

I am aware of that, similar system here (as duties have been paid in advance by the importer, which is the sole reason for retailers not beeing able to adjust prices freely). Still, those sticks usually find other ways to the market, when prices are way off true market value anymore. But ok, it seems to be as is.

That's making sense somehow, then. Extremely kind of you helping him out.

Enjoy :cigar:

That smoke has got to go for at least 2 hours!

Longer I would bet. It takes me over 2 hours to smoke a DC. I have a custom rolled diadema I've been aging for about 13 years in my humidor, and I've taken it out of the humidor a few times, but quickly put it back once I rationalized I would need an entire afternoon to smoke that big kahuna. I honestly don't think I can finish it in one sitting. One of these days I'll get the courage to try

Yeah, probably if I took the notion. That way one could share the other half with someone who'd appreciate it. Or if you don't like the first half ya could toss the second half in the humi for a while to age. Just me tho. I have my stuff to enjoy not to stare at. ??

Yup, that's a "Club Habana" band though. Not a Partagas Encuentros.  Can anyone confirm the band in the OP is a legit band for that year?

Could be a custom roll from the 11th anniversary of the Partagas shop? Band look right.
