Popular Post Squarehead Posted August 9, 2016 Popular Post Posted August 9, 2016 Here are some more pictures from our trip to Germany in June/July.Now if I could only caption each pic as I could do before.Anyways.2 oics are in a cigarstore at a ritzy department store(Breuninger's)in Stuttgart.2 pics are taken from old cigarboxes at a museum.1 pic with my parents(91 & 94 years old),some pics with our friends and some from Lindau am Bodensee(lake constance) with the Old City Hall. Also from inside the City Hall in Wangen im Allgäu in a little room where people got married.Of course beer galore and Fußballfieber all around. The last 2 pics were taken from Austria looking toward Switzerland and just to the right would be Germany. This are only a pics from over a thousand I took.Enjoy 13
ultramag Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 That humidor pic 3rd up from the bottom makes me giddy. I would love to walk in one like that some day!

Germany is still quite a cigar-friendly place (comparatively speaking). You will find tobacconists with humidors like that in all the big cities, and many of them will have a very tempting sideline in rums and whiskies as well. An odd wrinkle about German cigar merchants is that many of them will carry own-brand lines of smokes (usually coronas) that are usually made in the DR and Brazil. Always worth a visit...

I was just looking at the spirit selection in that other pic. Quite different than I'm used to in the States. As a rule here places with good beer and spirit selection have horrid cigar choices, if any, and good tobacconists have no liquor selection. Always interesting to see how different things can be elsewhere. With so many people enjoying spirits with their pipes and cigars having them together and the retailer being versed in both makes good sense to me. Thanks for sharing the pics BTW.

lafabrica Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 thanks for sharing pics of your trip. the walk-in certainly is nice & with a selection of NCs and CCs. i would be nervous in that humidor though - looks like a wrong glance at some of those singles (in particular the monte's) and they're ready to slide right down and hit the floor!
