kuma Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 As I sit on the chase lounge and surf the tele came across Naked and Afraid. For those that do not know this dumb tv program in the states it pits two total strangers man / woman and they have to brave the elements for 21 days. The location is picked by the producers of the show. Today we are in the lovely jungle of Costa Rica and we have been in the jungle for about 6 days. Already one of them (women) is breaking out in bites / hives and she just asked the "dud" if he would ckeck and see what is going on in the crack of her arse or ass which ever. Seems she feels something going on in there. Sure enough Dude looks in her crack and wahlaa there is a bug burrowing into her ass crack, very itchy according to her. Now I'm not opposed to honoring a request of that nature from a decent looking girl but in general seeing how they drank water that was not boiled and they have the shits I think I would have to take a pass, what say you what would you do if "Naked & Afraid".........
Smokeygun11 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I have seen parts of some episodes and i gotta say even the people who live in the wilderness as a life style like The last frontier, mountain men etc they know how dangerous and unforgiving mother nature can be more than anyone and they say all the time you either come prepared or you could lose your life SO why do these people thinks its ok to wlak around a jungle where everything want to eat or bite you ok? Could never understand this.
gr8eman Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 My theory is that these people who go on all these weird TV shows are looking for their 15 minutes of fame because they "peaked in high school". I'm sure P.T. Barnum said something apropos, I just can't remember it. Most people are too busy putting food on the table, raising kids, running a cigar business, etc. 2

Could never understand this. These people are never in any real danger. These shows all take the Bear Grylls approach. Just behind the cameras are about 50 production staff, they're probably about 25 yards off a paved road and maybe 30 minutes max from the resort the crew is staying at. Try to read the disclaimer that flashes by at the beginning/end. The contestants are "presented with situations by the production crew" in other words everything is staged. As @gr8eman said these are people with no shame and no applicable life skills trying to get famous. As someone who regularly spends a week plus in the Colorado Rockies and California High Sierra I can't watch this crap(Man/Women wild, Dual Survival, Naked/afraid) for a second. The only one of these survival shows that ever had any Merit was Survivor Man. Les Stroud is one bad Mother F@%ker. 1
Mattygukas Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I know some are in real danger. The one producer got bit by a snake in Costa Rica and it ate the flesh from his foot and lower leg. Even if they have support near by, one bit could mean the end of your life within minutes. (depending on the type of bite) I prefer a new show, where I am in a starring role...Clothed and comfortable on the couch.
Ken Gargett Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 i have said it before. humanity is just sooooo doomed.

It's called Gogglebox and it's people watching television and being filmed doing so. It's ridiculously popular in the UK. I live in a country of idiots.

forgop Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 I think I've watched every episode and actually enjoy it. It's great for an occasional meltdown and they really endure some harsh comditions. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk 1
