Jeez

A couple of things

A- I doubt anyone in their right mind would consider taking their $420k+ SUV anywhere near the roads to the best fishing spots up here

B- At $420k for the SUV I shudder to think what the Tow Ball option on the car would cost

C- I'd be afraid of getting the tackle box wet. Probably not the best frame of mind for a fisherman to be in

D- Can you imagine getting in your $420k SUV smelling like fish guts and river water?

E- That set up would be useless in the real world, it takes up all the boot space and doesn't leave room for an esky. Cant go fishing without an esky

But then again, have SUVs ever been designed for offroad-use or practicality?

I find the Bent is a poster child to the concept.

Can't wait for The Grand Tour guys to give it the pretentious review it deserves while lumbering over the English countryside side by side with a Range Rover. ?

Forget the fishing kit. Did you see that you can get a fancy clock option for the dash that only cost $300,000. The bloody clock and the fishing kit cost as much as the whole car. I wonder if it also comes with a diamond encrusted jar of Vaseline in the center console for those times when you are stuck at the lights looking at your own reflection in the shop windows.

Vaseline?

Bah.  It would have to be rendered baby whale blubber, at the very least, enhanced with crushed natural pearls and subtly scented with an extract from the sweat glands of the terminally endangered lesser crested Alaskan musk sloth.

Anyway, what that car REALLY needs is a fully temperature controlled 100-count humidor.

I love the comment below the article comparing the wheels to their Hyundai wheels...

There's certainly a place in this world for expensive, well-crafted stuff . . . but this falls into the category of more-money-than-brains. :P

Just when did it become de rigeur for luxury manufacturers to treat their customers as nitwits and suckers?

You might say I could be envious of people who can afford that sort of thing. And I bet I am but.... The guy said it was worth at least 12 Subaru Outbacks. I did the math and its worth 500 of my 91 Volvo 240s. Which when I have a wheelbarrow strapped to the roof probably turns a lot of heads also. Mostly because the tie down straps vibrate in the wind and it sounds like a 1920's cropduster flying down the road. Almost deafening at 90kmph. The trunk in mine will hold a tonne of fishing gear, tools and animal feed bags by the way. Put two apple trees in it once with a cherry tree draping the back seat.  And trust me that old Volvo has been in a lot of places it should never have been. I may be jealous but I sure do love my Volvo.

Bottom line is that I'm jealous of people that have the money to afford this, but there's no way, not if I was Bill Gates rich, that I'd purchase such an impractical piece of crap. Just like your Volvo, and the memories you have with it, for instance, no amount of money spent on a vehicle will ever make it worth the memories made. The best memories I have as a child are my mother, father, four siblings and myself crammed into an extended cab Chevy pickup, towing a camper 9 hours to Florida for Christmas vacation. It was so full we couldn't move, but by gosh we were a family, we loved each other, and there's not a chance in hell that any other vehicle would've made those trips any better.

I would not step foot in the water with any "fisherman" that drove one of those...

if i had the dosh (and that would mean i had an obscene amount of dosh so not holding my breath), i'd love one. but i agree with our friend above, i would want a 100 cigar humidor (fully controlled) and they could toss in 100 behikes to fill it.

If I was filthy rich and didn't have to work for a living, I'd build something like this...

mercedes-benz-g63-amg-luxury-6-6-suv.jpg

So I could tow this...

And I'd hire her to be my full time guide, driver, and humidor manager...

I'm with you if you also throw in a Bob Meiser Spey rod.

I was coming back from the airport this morning and one of these silly Bentleys come along the road in the other direction. Surprised to see one, I wonder if he went with the $300,000 clock option.
