I just bought a box of JLP Cazadores in Spain, from a regular Tabac shop, with an 08 box code. Could these maybe, just maybe, be part of the Vintage Program and just missing the magic sticker? JLP Cazzies are rough as arseholes young but they're OK now. At €40 maybe there was a zero missing too.

Well you did say the program makes no sense...

I have gotten JLPs as old as 2005 about 3 years ago, last year I got a 2011 box. I have a feeling some vendors don't sell a lick of them, they just aren't expensive enough, nor are the bands/boxes fancy enough,  regardless of how good they are. ;)

I think they sit for so long at X vendor before he decides to move them at a discount to another Vendor/Distributor that ends up selling them to a consumer. I used to buy from a Vendor who would throw in 3-6 year old 5x5 bundles of conservas for free on some orders.

If you put that "PCC VIntage" sticker on em you could probably sell them for $3 each rather than $1.50. :rotfl:

Just bought a box of the PCC aged 2010 D#4's. Didn't know there was a sticker and don't really care. All I want is after 30 days in the wineador, is that they smoke and taste spectacular! :D

It's hard to believe 5 years is now considered "vintage"

They are aged in my mind. Vintage is 10-15+

Their cigars, Their program, They can call it what they like.

For the record. Vintage refers to the period (5 years).

Origin of vintage

ME, earlier vendage ; from Old French vendange ; from Classical Latin vindemia, vintage ; from vinum, wine (see vine) + demere, to remove ; from de-, off + emere, to take: see redeem

Note specifically

+ demere, to remove ; from de-, off + emere, to take: see redeem

Again, they are referring here to "5 years"

I would still prefer it to be referred to as "Aged" given that the meaning of "Vintage" in the the world of cigars is different to the world of wine in terms of common use in the West.

Actually to be honest, I couldn't give a rat's arse. ;)
