Yes, well done. I wish them every success in securing an international profile for Four Pillars gin.

Nice article. I wish them every success and hope to try it one day

My local liquor store (KL Wines) can't stop raving about them so I picked up a bottle each of the regular and navy strength. Can't wait to try it. It will take a LOT to topple my beloved Monkey 47 from the top spot, though.

I will buy some. Which one do you recommend I try first Ken? I usually drink gin with tonic, but I'm not adverse to a dry martini.

So far, I tried the regular. Good gin, but nowhere near as good as Monkey 47 which I will gladly sip on its own. It made for a very nice gin tonic - the inherent citrus notes in the gin complemented the fever tree tonic nicely. Let's see what the navy strength can do...

kick off with whatever you can get and work through them. if you ever get a chance to try the spanish JV or the bloody shiraz gin, don't miss. that last one is seriously weird but fun.

The Botanist is made at the Bruichladdich distillery on Islay ... and those people know a thing or three about distilling!  Not quite as medicinal as the Monkey 47, but slightly floral with a clear hit of juniper.  It's quite rare but well worth a try.

As for Four Pillars, the straight gin is quite good, but for me, they did lose the plot rather when they started making their Bloody Shiraz Gin.  I mean, blending gin with Shiraz grapes?  Seriously, guys?

they made about 200 bottles i think. it was more for fun than anything else. if you knew the guys, it would not be a surprise. is it that different to the spiced rums or flavoured spirits around?

the spanish JV is worth a look.

What are your thoughts on the bloody shiraz Ken?

I recently picked up a bottle and am looking forward to opening it up.

They sell a 3x200ml sampler pack on their website which has the standard expression, negroni and bloody shiraz. Might be a good intro to Four pillars for anyone who is curious.

I love the Four Pillars range

Navy Strength is my pick when feeling like a GnT

The Barrel Aged is amazing neat with a drop of honey too

Have the full sweet! Negroni and Modern Aussie gin are my pick! The bloody shiraz is a crowd pleaser as it changes from a crimson purple into iridescent pink for a gin and tonic!

As my preferred way of imbibing is a Pink Gin rather than a G&T, the colour change wouldn't really work for me...
