Can anyone explain the flavor profile differences in Por Larrañaga Petit Corona vs. Picadores vs. Monte Carlo ? I know they are all considered to be sweet. I prefer the robusto size of the Picadores but am flexible. In the end, I realize that I alone must make this final determination based off of my own preferences. I also realize that smoking just 1 of each of these will not truly help in my decision making, as cigars vary so much from stick to stick and box to box. Do each of these 3 taste dramatically different, or do they have the same flavor profile and the difference is simply the size and resulting taste differences, intensity, etc. due to the size differences? Pricing is not a factor.

Ill have a crack but with the big caveat I have only tried a few Picadores.

I believe the PLPC to be the fuller bodied of all with a toasty tobacco and buttery taste which can turn sweet with age. Can be spicy also. I find it more a brown sugar sweetness but most people cite caramel as the flavour. I dont pick up sweet flavours very well.

The montecarlo has a more woody taste with cream and can be sweeter in these i do pick up caramel.

The picadores im reluctant to even comment but ive found them medium bodied with a cedary creamy bit of sweetnes maybe a bit like r&j?? Bit harsh with youth.

My 2c and to my taste only of course.

Cheers

I'd agree with dicko on this assesment. The "sweet" flavors of Por Larranaga can be a bit hard to nail down. Montecarlos so far have given me the most obvious hit of caramel. PLPC can be all over the board from caramel, to honey, to brown sugar, to simple syrup. Picadores definitely have some fuller flavor and more woodiness alongside the sweet notes and have a creaminess that I don't notice in the others as much.
