I've never seen the appeal of the jars or the books. I'll admit that some of them do look fantastic, but I'm left wondering what I'd actually do with the jar once the cigars are gone?

If it were mine, I would buy another box of Monte 3's and fill it back up.

That seems like short money for cigars supposedly aged for 5 years. Almost too cheap.

Not at all. 5 years really isn't that much age so not much premium justified over the regular price which is pretty low in Spain. I think the jar adder would work out to about 120 euros.

I could be mistaken but wasn't the Spanish Mag 46 jar filled with the 05 cardboard packs that were floating around?

Terrible I don't know but they are rather creative when they want to get rid of old stock… in 2005 they even lowered the price of 3 cigars that collected dust on the shelves: Partagas corona, RyJ Cedros de Luxe No.1, Punch DC…

Not to mention all the special packaging for the spanish market, metal jars, metal humidors, fancy boxes, etc.

I had not heard that before but would not be surprised. However, I have not heard of any questionable Monte 3 popping up anywhere so I'm hoping they are just regular production sticks.

Welcome to the forum. Sources are not discussed here as others have said.

The jar is a Spanish release. It is not legal for a Spanish tobacconist to sell online, advertise prices online or do distance selling.

Apparently (and I say apparently because I'm not yet sure about this info) the jars will have a boxcode and date, so hopefully it won't just be old stock stuffed into porcelain jars... or at the very least there will be some consistency with each jar.

Also, it's a 27ct jar, I believe that's pretty much been confirmed.

btw, the jar is not available until end of May, and anyway most spanish retailers that agree to ship to foreign countries have probably already pre sold their allowance…

Obviously we have different interpretations of the end of the month and what was said. You have connections and have a clearer timeline but you could try looking at it from my perspective where my knowledge is limited to things said in this thread. Nobody said "the last day of the month" they said end of the month which implies a window of time, which to me the 20th is within that window; certainly worth a post asking.
