wade1979 Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 even if he was available, i don't think they'd take him! I like Treadwell for the skins. Would have loved to have had him at no. 10 and hate to see him make a home in the NFC East.
wade1979 Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Going to be very interesting to see how the browns and the quantity vs quality strategy works for them as the they rebuild. They have really created amazing optionality over the next two years. Lets see if it pays off. 1
Ken Gargett Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I like Treadwell for the skins. Would have loved to have had him at no. 10 and hate to see him make a home in the NFC East. i think our first option is to trade back. next is the Dline but if there is a smoky, very likely to be treadwell. hard to see us affording new contracts for both garcon and djax next year so a replacement is high on the list.
Ken Gargett Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 i should add there is a serious chance we take kelly if still there.
Ken Gargett Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 i should add there is a serious chance we take kelly if still there. so scratch that.

Treadwell will take everything inside of 20 yards and in the middle. This makes the safety play honest, and let djax explode down field. Also extends Garcon and allows his to stay fresh as he gets on the downhill portion of his career. Liked him for very similar reason for my Giants.
Ken Gargett Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Cousins will be pleased with this i believe so. surprised they didn't go with defence but expect that for the next few picks.
anacostiakat Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 i believe so. surprised they didn't go with defence but expect that for the next few picks. Me too! Very surprised but he is a quality receiver so we just have to see.
investandprosper Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Colts beefing up their O Line, finally! 1
GrouchoM Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 As stated earlier, the Pats have no first round selections. But, if I remember we don't have a selection in the 2nd neither, but they have 6-7 picks late in all the remaining rounds (many compensatory picks). Hopefully we can find a lot of younger two way players to add to depth.
BurnsNZ Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I'm happy with the Bucs pick - traded down and still picked up the guy they were targeting at 9 (Hargreaves). Now if we can somehow get Kevin Dodd in the second either by dropping to us or trading up with that extra 4th then it will have been a great first two picks.
Corylax18 Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Seems like the Giants reached a bit for Apple, but that's what Gerry does. (Amukamara, Flowers, Pugh) Hopefully Apple will be the exception and play well enough to earn a second contract. Its painful to watch us blow these picks year after year, only to get middling returns for 4 or 5 years then watch the players go sign backup /special teams value contracts with other teams. We spend about a billion dollars on a corner this off season, then use our first round pick on another corner to play slot for a couple years? I think they fired the wrong guy this year, and I was never a huge Coughlin fan. Fortunately we had NO other needs/holes on offense or defense so stockpiling expensive players at one position is clearly a fool proof plan. Still not a talented Linebacker in site. I am just a bit too young to remember LT's playing days, but other than Antonio Pierce its been 2 decades of clowns through that position. Mark Herzlich? Seriously? At least we have another guy with "Great Potential" I was listening to Belichick the other day talk about how many extra games the Pats have won over the years because of all the "Potential" on their roster. He attribute the 2014 super bowl victory almost entirely too it.
Blazer Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Browns are racking up the pics, my only concern is that they have the worst track record of identifying talent in the NFL. What makes it more frustrating is that on the rare occasion they do hit on a pick they trade them away after their initial contract. I liked the pick of a receiver at 12, but wished they had selected Treadwell due to his larger size. After all, RG3 ain't the most accurate of passers.

He attribute the 2014 super bowl victory almost entirely too it. Good to see another Big Blue fan! I am of the opinion that in today's style of football a team can never have too many good CBs. That said, I'm not sure Reese foresaw both Conklin and Floyd gone before the 10th pick, and so he just went with best talent available. I think Apple is in a very good spot to succeed. He won't be counted on too heavily early in his career with DRC and Jenkins already atop him on depth chart. I am old enough to remember the LB heavy G-Men of old. I can very vividly recall George Young drafting LT with the 2nd pick in '81. Back then, before widespread national coverage of the draft, the majority opinion in the area was to take Hugh Green from Pitt. Worked out to be a pretty good pick! Now, I'm hoping Reese has the onions to draft Miles Jack in 2nd round if he's still on the board.
Corylax18 Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 True, Apple should have the room to develop behind DRC and Janoris. Maybe they'll let him play some safety, we could use some help their too! I think Jack would be a great pick in the 2nd, but Reese knows his job is on the line, so a potentially risky pick like that seems less likely. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it though. I'm thinking we still look at right tackle or guard with the next pick, but its anyone's guess what happens with the 9 picks before us.
Rye Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I like the Steelers pick of a great young cornerback on the d-line.
eswary Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Lions addressing Stafford getting hammered and poor run blocking. Good call on OT Decker! Round 2 & 3 needs are DT and DE. Go Lions Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rye Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 YES! Javon Hargraves as another big and fast D prospect. I really do love the Steelers draft and training program, now if they'd quit hiring twits like Vick we'd be set!
Ken Gargett Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 we continue to go BPA rather than fill needs. interesting tactic.
El Presidente Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 Bucs drafted a kicker Going 6-10 last season all holes have now been filled....apparently. ......this is why I love the Bucs 2
Ken Gargett Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Bucs drafted a kicker Going 6-10 last season all holes have now been filled....apparently. ......this is why I love the Bucs don't forget, you swapped picks from rounds 3 and 4 to move up for a kicker. hey, in 66, we drafted a kicker with the 6th pick overall. he was from hungary. fair to say it was not a stellar career at the skins and an even less stellar pick. but that does not even go close to our worst pick.....
Ken Gargett Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 i'll post this as a separate thread. it is too good. and it is why we love the skins. sometimes.
