Hello FOH!

A friend gifted me a Diplomaticos Bushido two weeks ago and I decided to light it up last night. I never had a 109 format before and I must say that despite thinking it would be too big, it was just a beautiful, perfect occasion-size cigar.

The profile left me disappointed.. it was rather linear with some sweetness and an increase in strength as I smoked. I give that particular cigar 80/100 at most.

I have some questions to you more-experienced smokers...

Are Diplomaticos mild in general?

How do milder cigars age?

What are you recent thoughts on this cigar?

Thanks! peace.gif

Cheers

I bought two from a split for about $40 apiece. I let them sit in my wineador for two weeks before trying one. Very mild two hour cigar with not much flavor. A little cocoa and sweetness. but for the most, just toasted tobacco. I guess I was expecting a lot more after all the hype. will not buy any more. This was my first Diplomatico.

That's also what I got.. 2 hours of mild flavor with not much flavor but some cocoa and sweetness.

It was also my 1st Diplomaticos. Box code was EML ABR 15.

I have only had 2 (and tried some from a 3rd) and yes I find them very mild but super complex and delicious. Worth the $ for me (for a 5'er anyway).

In general for me this is what Diplomaticos is, mild to medium, sweet cocoa (But this is just my taste).

I enjoyed the Bushido for my Birthday and loved it, again, not complex at all but enjoyable nonetheless. I usually enjoy the Dip 2

Olga,

There's absolutely nothing wrong with disliking mild cigars, your palate is your palate. My sentiments concur with dicko, a beautifully mild, flavoursome cigar which I regret not getting more of (I got 6 in a split...I have a few left). For me, the Diplomáticos Bushido was one of the cigars of the year for Habanos in 2015.

At least you didn't commit to getting a whole box.

I've never been a big fan of Diplomatico for the above-mentioned reasons. They always left me feeling a bit let down. Just too mild for my tastes.

I'm yet to have a Dip but love the Sanchos.

I actually love mild and mild-medium cigars. It's just that the one I smoked wasn't anything special in regards to complexity and flavors. I received 2 more singles today and intend to revisit in the near future.. I hope they are like the ones you smoked! peace.gif

It is a very nice mild to light medium cigar. For a fresh cigar it had good flavor and complexity. I love the size, nice beach cigar or afternoon in the sun cigar. Seems be a cigar that will develop nicely with some age.
