kuma Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I'm attempting to figure out what I may like best between two cigars from the same maker; One is the Punch / Punch and the other is the Punch Royal Coronations. I do like Punch /Punch but never had the other. What is the difference in the two. Thanks all and stay well........
Smallclub Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 The Royal Coronation is, in some way, to the Punch line what the Cazadores is to the RyJ line. Rustic, dry, linear, rather strong without nuances… I haven't tried the RC recently but the Punch Punch has always been 100x better.
JohnS Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Only 100 times better? Spot on, go with the Punch Punch.
NSXCIGAR Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 The last Coronation I smoked was quite good, and as much as I like Punch in Corona and Mareva, when Punch Punch are on, they're much better. Fortunately, it's not difficult to find quality Punch Punch these days. It's going to be much stronger in wood flavors, medium-strong overall, slightly tangy. 2013+ production has generally been quite good after a solid decade of crap.
TomF Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 In addition to the wood and the tang I often taste salted roasted peanuts like the ones you get on the airplane in the Punch Punch. I love them!
MrGTO Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I'll pile on the Punch Punch crowd. I love them with a year down minimum, but your mileage my vary.
habanolover Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 BRING BACK THE RS11 MOTHER@^%@^R!!! Sorry, off topic I'm still a lil giddy, I got promoted on my job yesterday 1
eswary Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Punch Punch in dress and A/T's have been consistently good the last few yrs. I recommend Punch Punch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
asmartbull Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Recent Punch Punch are are real disappointment when compared those of the past....probably going to be a cold day in hell before I go for another box " With your shield, or on it"...
Ralphanator Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 A Punch Punch turned me to the Dark Side of CC Cigars and I never went back! 1

sepp Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 BRING BACK THE RS11 MOTHER@^%@^R!!! Bring back the Black Prince! 1
el.barbudo Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 I'd go with PP over RC, especially if they are recent PP which (I'm told) have really improved. I have a box of PP from '06 that I have mixed feelings about, but still like better than the 2 RC I've had... Yes, bring back the RS11or RS12! Any possible connection between the discontinuation of those and the recent improvement in PP?
DONSVO Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 BRING BACK THE RS11 MOTHER@^%@^R!!! Sorry, off topic I'm still a lil giddy, I got promoted on my job yesterday I've got 4 left from a 2000 box. Terrific cigars. I agree with that sentiment! 1

DONSVO Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Care to SHARE my friend?? If I shared I would cry myself to sleep. Got them on a trade from a buddy with some RS12s, Du Roi, Hoyo church and TyJ church all from 2000. Also got a sealed LFDC 5 pack of petit coronas from 1996.
avaldes Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Heck with that, the only Punch that I ever really craved was the SS#2. I can still taste that last cab..it sure was strong when new!
moryc Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Definitely Punch Punch is much better than the RC imho
