Welcome from Texas! I Love Toronto. Unfortunately I haven't been there since college in 1998. I remember it being like New York but really clean and the residents were nice to me when I asked for directions. Also, you had an establishment called "Beer Store" as I recall. There was a wall full of cans and bottles with the different quantities and amounts. I would tell the register person what I wanted, and it would magically appear from the back on a conveyor belt. It was a thing of beauty. Unfortunately I wasn't a cigar person back then. But the Beer Store will stay with me always lol. (Plus at the time Toronto had the 3rd largest English speaking stage theatre district in the World behind New York and London).

haha yup! The Beer Store (actual name) still exists as a chain.

It's interesting when we get visitors and tourists that don't realize ( a ) Toronto's proximity to the US - about 1.5 hours from Buffalo, 4 hours from Detroit, 5 hours from Pittsburgh, or ( b ) How big of a city it really is. Very comparable to Chicago - another city I love.

I will have to visit Texas someday, have heard many great things.
