Hi All,

Glad to be finally joining this forum. I recently returned from a week long trip to Havana, Cuba. I've been smoking the occasional cigar for the past 5 or 7 years. This past year though, I've really refined my tastes, and become very familiar with certain tobacco, especially Cuban varieties. This recent trip was a truly magnificent experience, and has really solidified this hobby of mine. A few Canadian members of this forum were able to meet up with me down there, and show me many of the ins and outs of cigar culture there.

Currently, I'm a student living in SoCal attending grad school here. I'm originally from Chicago, and will be back there this summer, and for various breaks. I've got a few desktop humidors, but after much research I've gone with a wineador. I'm definitely looking for some advice with that setup, so I'll be starting another thread soon in the humidor section of the forum. Looking forward to learning more about this 24:24 as well, if anyone has any pointers, please don't hesitate to reach out. Not quite sure the limitations on that because of my location...

Welcome! I'm envious of your trip to Cuba; sounds like you had a wonderful time. A wineador is a terrific idea. I rapidly grew out of desktop humidor space and into a one -- and eventually another, before heading to even larger pasture. The CC norm of buying by the box (instead of the NC norm of buying by the 5er, for example) tends to generate a great deal more material to manage. :)

The general discussion / "water hole" forum is by far the most active, and it's where 24:24 takes place. If you've not seen it, take a look at this guide, recently written by one of our members:

Thanks, looking forward to the 24:24! So what is the larger pasture you've moved on to?
