. Maybe it would be nice if you offered to smoke with her and brought her a minuto. You could give her direction on how to smoke a cigar vs a cigarette and maybe she would come to appreciate it. Who knows, the world is a crazy place.

I think you misread Orion...she's about 21!

I have on occasion brought in a cigar for a colleague of the same age to smoke after a work function after she said how much she likes the smell when I return to the office after having a day time Upmann Half Corona. It's amazing what a team building exercise a few cigars can create! Although El Pres does ring a well..... I wonder what Fair Work would say! It's a crazy world indeed.

Having a cigar and a glass or two of Shiraz allows you to coalesce the vapor of human experience into a viable and logical comprehension.

Is it the cigar and wine, or the simple matter of making / taking the time for one's self? Does freeing one's mind require an aid / crutch.........

I find that the cigar and wine let me be a stand up philosopher! lol3.gif

Great thread. I'd like to think that most of us don't sit around smoking and care about how "posh" we look with our fancy cigars. :D I for one find the time spent invaluable whether I'm smoking a Quinteros or a Behike. Her comparison between cigars and cigarettes is akin to someone needing a fast food fix and inhaling a candy bar vs someone patiently waiting to get home and grill that steak they've let marinate overnight. ;)

I think it's the time which is the luxury.

If I have two hours to sit in the sun with someone I love, to forget about the daily grind, that's precious and luxurious. A cigar can enhance that time but it's an addition. A cigar in a sad or depressing environment/state of mind is no luxury to me

... that said, a good cigar can raise spirits and make a bad situation, feel a little better!

21!!!! She knows nothing of life! My advice remains the same. I'm sure she enjoys luxury in another ways (hopefully). My wife loves expensive handbags and shoes that cost as much as many boxes of cigars. When she asks how much my box of cigars costs I just smile. As long as she continues to enjoy the luxury of fine shoes and handbags my cigar buying is bullet proof. Also, maybe being only 21 she hasn't been treated to true luxury yet, be it the time freedom or money freedom that leads to being able to enjoy cigars. She is quite young.

That's also my counter, however it didn't fly with my girlfriend when I tried to explain it to her when she had food poisoning! :D

Well I've given the young lady a Por Larranaga Panatella to try over the weekend after I was asked more questions about cigars. Rob....you may have a new customer....

I've refrained from telling her that some say a cigar offers flavours of cracked hay, butterscotch, graham cheese, coffee, and candy floss to name a few....

In the mean time I'm enjoying a Monte 2 while sipping on a glass of Shiraz....

Have a good weekend all!

This sums it up for me.

Just lit up a Lusi with my favourite pairing a Cascade stout. Sitting on the deck, perfect evening tonight in Melbourne. My wife comes out and joins me. She asked for a puff (which she does occasionally) Hey this is really nice she says. I must say the Lusi was spot on tonight.

She then asked to have some stout, (which she has tried before without a cigar and she didn't like at all).

Wow she goes, this is incredible with the cigar! Brought a real smile to my face, as I thought she finally gets it.

Well, we just spent close to two hours puffing away on a great cigar with a great drink and listening to our favourite songs on youtube..

Guys, we were at home, nothing special, and we just spent a couple hours talking, listening to some great old (and new) songs and really enjoying the moment..

It doesn't get better than that..

Sounds like we're having the same kind of evening. My wife occasionally does the same. Got to love a good Lusi!
