Easttide Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I've enjoyed a few semi-aged HdM Epi 1's (2011), been intrigued by Epi 2's, but haven't had one I've really enjoyed all that much compared to the other HdM's or robustos I've had, and had a few Epicure Especiales that were good that I have to revisit. This week my doors were blown off by a '15 Coronation, ROTT as well as a '03 Des Dieux, ROTT. In the spirit of thin gauge and cheep-ish what should I go for next, in your opinion?
JohnS Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 In the spirit of thin gauge and cheep-ish what should I go for next, in your opinion? If you'd like a similar Hoyo experience, be super-quick the next time the Le Hoyo du Prince come up on a 24:24. They always sell out quickly, mind you. 2
Ralphanator Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 If I said it once I'v said it Twice Hoyo Du Depute and Du Prince are the Bomb 1
MooseAMuffin Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 I'm not sure if these get much love, and I have only had a few, but I like the Epicure De Luxe.
CaptainQuintero Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 If you like the woody side of hdm the palmas extra might be worth a try
skalls Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Only tried the Epicure Especial. Good cigar but the box I bought has been horribly underfulled (other source than here). Good flavors but I just want more body. Mild to mild-medium cigars just don't do it for me. They always leave me wanting more. But having said that I have a box of those Epi 1 Seconds incoming. My brother is likely going to buy 10 of them from me, or maybe more if he likes them and they don't do it for me.
Rye Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 If you like the woody side of hdm the palmas extra might be worth a tryX2 on the Hoyo PE's. Great cheap & cheerful and really come into their own after a couple years rest. Love'm!
El Presidente Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Hard to fault the du Prince right now. Even young, they are flavour bombs. 2
skalls Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Have any of them lined up for a 24:24 in the near future?
El Presidente Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Have any of them lined up for a 24:24 in the near future? Some next week. Not too many unfortunately. 2
planetary Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Here's what a box of du Prince from our host looks like: I've been keeping it in the back of the humidor since purchasing it, but... 2
JoeyW Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 i like corronation , du prince too. hard to find nowdays but the hoyo short pyramid el 2011 are PERFECT!
Easttide Posted April 2, 2016 Author Posted April 2, 2016 I'll be watching 24:24 for a box of du Prince or Palmas Extras like a hawk this week! Thanks
dageshi Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Received a box of du Depute yesterday, not even a year old, Jul 15 if memory serves, first time I've tried them. Hands down one of my new favourite cigars, smoked another today which was a big plugged but *still* good. I am on the skinny HdM bandwagon for sure!
zeedubbya Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Have Du Prince On recommendation from our host as well and I'll be trying to obtain a second box as soon as I see them. They're very nice ROTT. I'd definetly classify them as a forum favorite, and one of mine now as well. Can't wait to see what they're like in a few months....if they last that long.
CaptainQuintero Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 I'll be watching 24:24 for a box of du Prince or Palmas Extras like a hawk this week! Thanks I don't think palmas extra will ever come up on 24:24 unless there is a big shout for them. If you like the idea of them an order off the *****int site would probably be the best way to grab some
KB24 Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 The 2005 Hoyo Epi 1 I had this morning was top 3 cigars I've ever had. It was milk chocolate, cream, nutty, damn near snickers bar!!!!! 1
