Popular Post Ken Gargett Posted March 26, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 26, 2016 okay, i realise that this goes perilously close to the no US politics rule and any mod is welcome to delete it if they wish to - but would it not be nice if we could all realise it is simply a bit of humour and not go ballistic. there are no prizes to the first person to go ballistic. https://www.facebook.com/inthenowrt/videos/578195305664176/ 7
LordAnubis Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 You really do have a stockpile of guns, politics, religion and telstra things to break out when the times are quiet don't you Ken?

LordAnubis Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I liked the part about "i'll go to the doctors and have my hurt feelings checked out... for free"

CaptainQuintero Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Canada does not have free health care. Heath care there is paid for by taxesI think the argument isn't that it's free it's that it comes as standard from the taxes everybody pays/they get more for their money If you look at the graph:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_total_health_expenditure_per_capita#/media/File%3AOecd-healthexp-percapita.svg That is per capita. The average US citizen pays more tax into the US public healthcare system through taxes than anyone else, yet doesn't get universal healthcare back. I suppose another way to look at it would be to say, would you be against a healthcare reform bill that means you pay less tax, get universal healthcare and have to not buy private healthcare insurance because your lower rate of tax would already fully cover you? But if you wished to go private in addition you could. The problem, and I think others have hit on this before, seems to be more about wasteful spending of tax than any inherit problem with universal healthcare. Although if a universal healthcare was introduced with the money already collected in tax, going by the way the tax is currently misspent then it looks like it wouldn't work because of the people running it rather than the idea of it? 2
stogieluver Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Good one, Ken, but I'm not touching this one. (You do realize El Pres is just around the corner, lurking, watching, waiting).

luv2fly Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I thought it was funny. I have passed it on to several friends and they all got a good laugh. 1
perkinke Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 For all the jokes we Americans make about Canada, turn about is fair play. I found it very funny.
Orator Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I enjoyed it and shared it, as well. It's humor and should be taken as such. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Fugu Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Jeebus people, it is political satire! A bit distressing for me, US politics or not, to see that people seem to feel obliged to confirm on their funny reception of that bit. Or if the poster (ok, seems a special case here... haha!) has to apol and wish beforehand that nobody would go ballistic about it! That was really a tame and harmless one, nowhere near dark or sarcastic (like the kind of satire we get here...yet). If we can't stand or can't handle that, I am truly sorry I have to say, and we might not be better than any... ok, let's not get into this.
oliverdst Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Yes, it's funny. When I learnt laughing at myself I started being a happier person. 1
Rushman Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 What the hell. I'd vote for them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
