I know we cant talk in the open about reliable online sources, but if anyone has any good sources, i would greatly appreciate a PM. I plan on buying all or most of my sticks from Rob, but if i want to get some limited or special editions that he doesnt have, i was hoping to find some good sources and i know there are no guarantees, but any help would be great.

I do my best to resist smoking anything that has less than a year since the box date. It's difficult and I'm not always successful, but I have learned that patience is a virtue and you will be richly rewarded if you wait.

Yours is a sampler and you won't know the box date so take that a license to enjoy right away, but do wait at least 30 days. It's worth it.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Habanos. Congrats and enjoy!

Don't smoke them too wet and misjudge them! Habanos are not NC cigars, and while you will be itching to smoke through them, give some the chance to get acclimated... Just buy more!

Welcome!

Very good advice if you can afford it after they rest a while smoke a few and BUY MORE rest them smoke a few and BUY MORE Repeat..don't wait till you finish a box or sampler before you reorder.

Agreed. Buy more, rest most and rotate! I started with one box now I have 19... Went from a small desktop humidor to a wineador to a larger Wineador and I'm running out of room.. It's fun, enjoyable and you're in a great place with a lot of knowledgable folks. Welcome!

Hear, hear! Enjoy the journey, and splash around with samplers and splits to figure out what you like.

If you can get ahold of some aged singles (e.g. Rob's Christmas sampler), I'd urge you to take the plunge as well, to get a sense of what time and good care can do for a cigar. I got into this without the intent to go to the fuss of long-term aging. ...Once I tasted aged cigars, I changed my mind. Still enjoy and appreciate younger sticks, but... oof...

Sky's the limit. Enjoy!

For the benefit of us newer guys, can anyone give a rundown of what was in the Christmas sampler last year?

Nice selection! I have yet to try anything from the San Cristobal marca.
