parabola66
So short and sweet. My buddy is trying to get me interested in craft beers. Micro-brews, IPAs, and the like. I have been trying to get my buddy interested in cigars for quite some time. What are some cigar/beer (craft and IPA) combos that you have found to be good together? My inventory consists of: Boli RC Party D4 SLR Regio LGC #4 Party Shorts
wade1979
I find the Boli RC pairs very well with and IPA. Can't go wrong with any you have above through.
Colt45
I'm not a fan of hoppy beers with cigars, so not many IPAs fit the bill for me. For the most part for me, wheat beers, stouts - nothing too sharp or tannic - work the best.
Jeremy Festa
Porters and stouts are where you start when pairing beers with most cigars. If you move into lagers and ales, pair with your Partagas. If you you are lucky enough to find some sours, then pair with your SLR. Or, just have 3 beers, and then everything is amazing together.

I been enjoying the Sierra Nevada Porter, highly recommend. Also for the LGC #4, I'd suggest the Hoegaarden Wheat Beer, truly amazing.
potpest
I find cuban cigars go very well with all craft beers. I may be biased because I'm a huge beer fan but contrary to most; I think IPA goes great with all Cubans, especially cohiba, le hoyo styles. Although for a truly perfect cigar beer combination grab a Ramon Allones, Bolivar or Upmann and break out an Imperial Stout. I fell in love the first time I had a great American or India Pale Ale but I realised I was in trouble when I had my first barrel aged Imperial Stout. I'm now at my local craft beer shop twice a week and I have another addiction to fund.
SmittyinAZ
If you are just getting into the 'craft' beer journey, I would just find the beers you enjoy first, then you can figure out what would go best with your current stock of CCs. My IPAs don't enhance, nor take away from my cigar I may smoke with it. Just try them all and see what works for you. Cheers! Smitty
SofaKing
This ^^ . As for IPA's I love em but not with a cigar.
jwr0201
I do a lot of homebrewing and prefer Porters, Stouts and particularly Brown Ales. Anything made with Crystal malt will enhance the coffee/chocolate flavors in cigars. High IBU beers and ales tend to be bitter and somewhat astringent and can take away or overpower all but the strongest cigars. Try a nice stout with a good brown ale floated on top. olotti
As a lover of both I've found like others most stouts, porters or brown ales maybe even barley wines work as they have the chocolate, sweetness that pairs well with cigars like bolis and they're earthy dark chocolate profile plus bigger darker beers par well with a cigar that has more oomph to it. Some cigars that have a fruitier aspect maybe a slr regio could go well with a pale ale or a mid level abv like 6% fruity ipa but if u pair that cigar with a bigger ipa like and 8%+ beer the cigar flavors will prob get lost in the hop bomb piney resinous real grapefruit or intense tropical flavors those beers can have. I however smoke anything with anything but I prefer stouts especially with cc's.
