Many congratulations, I hope all goes well. My personal favs are Trinidad Robustos Extra but they're not easy to find are pretty expensive. The BBF or HDM EE would be a fine choice. Good idea to put away a box of something with birth year and month for future. My son will be 21 this year and I'm on the hunt for a Dec '95 box of something nice to share with him. Wish I'd thought of it then

Congrats!

I had Rob hand pick a PSP of Monte 2 box for my daughter's birth, classic, just seemed right. I would choose BCG, Lusi, or CORO next go around.

A belated congratulations brotha! I would agree with Dave's suggestions listed above. I have celebrated my engagement and subsequent wedding by sharing PSP Monte 2's and Bolivar Coronas Gigantes with close family and friends. Made for a great and memorable time

Congrats, mate!

Contrary to some previous recommendations, and taking into account what you said about your own experience, and most likely the friends you'll be sharing the cigars with, I wouldn't go for anything too strong, so I'd rule out Bolivars in general.

Considering the purpose of these smokes is to celebrate, special and/or iconic cigars would definitely be my choice, and so I'd either go for 1) a Cohiba because, well, they're Cohibas, and here the Robusto is a safe choice, as is the Siglo VI, or 2) the Partagas Lusitania, which is a fantastic and also impressive looking cigar, and one which I personally tend to find quite superior to the Cohiba Robusto, and cheaper, or 3) Montecristo No 2, which is another absolute classic cuban cigar, and one that has not let down these past few years.

Congrats and do as Rob said about getting month and year for a yearly birthday celebration I did that for my daughter. Also grabbed a box to save for her wedding also and open at the event and share with friends/guests.

As for smoking with friends after your son is born I'd go with one of these 3 which Rob keeps raving about.

Congratulations! I actually took up cigar smoking because of the birth of my first, as I promised I would give up cigarettes when he was born as my dad gave up them for me.

My good friend and best BOTL was actually the doctor that delivered my second. Very cool experience.

I like the idea of a tubo. Maybe Punch Punch or PRC?

Congrats!

My first is due in May and I have been pondering the same question. I like the idea of handing out Cohibas.

I also plan to collect some 2016 vintage wines, the kinds of bottles I can lay down for 20 years and open on special occasions in my daughter's life.

Congrats as well!

I'm pretty darn excited/thrilled/nervous.

Thank You for all the great advice and well wishes. I really like the idea of getting a box from the month and year of the birth and squerlling them away to enjoy at milestones down the road. I have a box of CoRo's from a recent 24:24 that arrived last week that I plan to use at the post birth celebration. I had to jailbreak one last night from my humidor and it was all types of awesome with classic cohiba flavors and sweet/floral note. These sticks will work for sure. Now on to a box from our host that will age well over the next 20 years.

Congrats!

Congratulations! Nothing in life beats the birth of your first, (well possibly your second..)

All the best for the future.

Congrats brother! I have one daughter, she's five, and my wife's pregnancy and delivery were also very difficult. Glad to hear you in an upbeat and excited place. Raising a child is pretty incredible!

It sounds like you got your pals covered, but are looking for a box to age and smoke over the years... since month and year of the box code are critical I would suggest writing El Prez an email with some cigars you are interested in and the box code you need. He might be able to find the best with that month/year requirement?
