javonazul Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Haha really guys? Tacky? The guy who enjoys selecting his tobacco, getting some of the best rollers make his cigars to smoke them all the long and give away to a lot of people those cigars for pure enjoyment, is a “tacky” guy for call his own GR cigars ? (Better and more aged tobacco). Damn! I must go to English school again to understand the meaning of that word better. Also, I guess “no offenses are meant”, of course. True BOTLs.
mpq Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Odd that this popped up. Saw one of these for sale with a few other unicorns the other day. Never heard of these before, but would love to try one.
Popular Post Habana Mike Posted October 21, 2017 Popular Post Posted October 21, 2017 While I have little doubt that there are KSA cigars which have been gifted by the Prince to various individuals from time to time based on the comments of some long standing and respected members here, I'm a bit skeptical of the authenticity of all of these versions as expressed by our two newer members that joined within 24 hours of each other sharing the same avatar that have not posted much here beyond this topic. Just MHO. Perhaps I'll have the chance to meet "the man" myself one day and he can share with me the history on all the varying versions presented here and elsewhere. 4 1
Habana Mike Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 And welcome to FOH mpq. Great first post! 1

Yes, tacky - for my taste. Why the need to add all the bling if it's not for showing off? If I had my own custom blend, they would have a simple band with the blend identifier and age on it and that's it. But that is my taste. Also, if someone is offended by the rather mild word "tacky", they should probably grow a thicker skin or they will have a hard time in life... 4 2

Fuzz Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Alfais, since joining, of your 25 posts bar 2 have been in this thread. Is there a point to this or something you would like to explain? 2
Shaunster Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Those bands are awful, they turn what was (to some at least) a classy product into another cigar purely made for the facebook culture.
David88 Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Those bands do look a bit gaudy for my taste and remind me of NC bands. I’m also puzzled as to how or why there are GR and EL bands in some of the pictures? I can’t see HSA allowing those bands to be put on to what are essentially custom rolls. I’m sure they are great cigars though and it’s always great to be given something nice for free!
javonazul Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 The first two pictures are the first bands he ever made. That’s why he called them “Vintage KSA” in the printscreen. Actually all the ones that look almost like “homeprinted” are. Haha I don’t like either using exactly the Habanos GR bands haha. But please remember: this is for fun! It started for pure fun, and, while it has gotten to big levels, it continues to be made for fun. It’s Saturday 7am where I am, I wish you a great weekend and for my AU friends, a great Saturday night ??

oliverdst Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 The thread went from educational to boring. 2

The use of GR and EL bands really puts me off. If for fun, it's still tacky, unwarranted and, in the words of the song, "that don't impress me much". 1
