I want to smoke in the car but don't want my car to always smell like cigars. Do the mini smoke eaters work? Any particular brands/models you recommend? Any advice is appreciated.

I do it occasionally. As long as you leave the windows down while you smoke and leave them cracked for a few days you'll be fine.

If you smoke every day your car will smell like smoke no matter what.

The problem with that is it's winter here in Indiana so I can't really leave the windows down for any extended period.

I have a 45 minute each way commute so in winter I generally smoke a cigar on way home from work. Smoke eater and ash can is a great setup. Car still smells like smoke but I don't really care all that much and in spring/summer it pretty well goes away. Can't remember what brand the little plug in device I have is--sorry. I find if you crack the passenger window and the rear windows a smidge it doesn't get too cold.

I smoke in mine maybe once a week.

Make sure the air circulation button is the one from the outside air and have the back windows down an inch or so and the driver window quarter open and when you finished smoking put all windows down for a few min.

Everyone is shocked my car doesn't smell like cigars when they get in it.

However in winter if it rains and you have to close the winodws while smoking the car will stink its nasty.

I don't smoke in my car, but use an O3 machine (ionizer) on my sun porch to get rid of the smell. Should still keep the windows open/cracked while smoking, but then use the O3 machine with windows shut for 20 minutes or so. Don't breath the stuff in, just open the doors when done and let it air out.

My Honda has a sun roof. I've found that opening it into "vent" pulls the smoke out pretty well. One advantage is that you can do this in cold or even light rain.

Thanks for the tip. Gonna give this a shot on my drive out to Durango CO later this year.

Somehow the smell will always linger in the car...it's mostly noticed by outsiders who get into your car for the first time. We smoke in my uncle's '80 fiat spider convertible on the way to the cottage and, it's hard to tell, but it's there.

I like smoking in the car on long trips. What you do so it doesn't smell is make sure the driver window is cracked about an inch or two, have the front defroster fan on medium, and make sure you're on a highway or driving fast. Once you slow down or make frequent stops, the smoke won't get sucked out the window was well. Also just make sure to hold the cigar close to the window and try to blow the smoke toward it. Works for me and the car never smells.

I open my passenger side window about 3 inches, crack the two back windows, and the driver side about an inch. I also have the heat on to stay warm. Everything vents out. No matter what, your car will always have a slight smoke smell unless you smoke every once in a while. If you do it every day, nothing will work.

I smoke in my vehicle daily. I hardly if ever get complaints about the cigar smell of my car. Here's what I normally do. (Nissan Xterra)

Only driver's side window down a couple of inches, 3-4

Air Conditioning - Recirculated off, air directed to the floorboards full blast.

This creates enough positive force to send all the smoke from the cigar out the window.

I spoke a cigar at least weekly in my car. I have pretty much the same advice as above. I always keep the driver's side window down about 2 inches while smoking. If it's winter time, like now, I crank the heat to 75 and don't have any issues. Once in the garage I keep all the windows down and sun room open. I rarely have any issues with significant lingering smoke smells.

I really only smoke in my truck during the warmer months. I find the issue with prolonged smell usually occurs if i let the air system circulate the smoke. Keep the driver window open some and the vents on direct flow and you shouldnt have a problem. Burns from an errant ash is another issue... ?

I do not and would never smoke in my SUV. While I love cigars, I am not that desperate to smoke in my vehicle and have it reek like cigar smoke. Nor would my 9 year old daughter whom I transport to and from school everyday appreciate it.

Something about driving on the sand (70 kilometers of Fraser Island beach) with the windows down and the top off (the cars top wink.png ) while enjoying a cigar. One of the great moments in life!

You have a different situation. A Jeep or similar with removable top on a beach would be cigar heaven for myself also.
