Ken Gargett Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 if that was not a catch, i'll swim to the states. what a truly awful decision. they get that correct and no touchdown. mind you, allow me to remind broncos fan what happened the last time their team led 10 to nil in the superbowl. doug williams anyone? the glorious skins? five TDs in the 2nd quarter. and who are these ddreadful commentators? 2
Guest scsi Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 go Broncos, go!!!! Peyton deserves to have as many SB rings as his brother 1
Guest scsi Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Carolina kinda sucking before halftime.... 3 punts in a row
Ken Gargett Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 so far, fairly ordinary game. yet to fire up. hoping for a better 2nd half. 1
Easttide Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 So weird the Patriots aren't in it! Love them or hate them... http://www.foxbusiness.com/features/2016/01/25/super-bowl-50-ticket-prices-plummet-after-patriots-loss.html I still think Panthers by 14.
Guest scsi Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Peyton will be putting on his bionic neck for the second half. He can turn his head now..... Watch out Carolina
David88 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 It's not the best game so far. I'm disappointed with Carolina, Their defence isn't as tight as it has been throughout the season and their offense isn't really firing either. The Bronco's defence though has been very impressive. Cam Newton will still be feeling this game next week!
jwr0201 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Very good match-up. if game were played a dozen times, probably would be an even split between these teams. Nice to see a fresh team in there. Also good to see PM getting another shot at redemption. Glad not to see NE in there again.
dangolf18 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Pretty boring game, but half-time show was one of the better ones I've seen.
Guest scsi Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 well at least it's not a blow out like it usually is
Easttide Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 I was wrong again! Congrats to The Broncs and Peyton. Their D is the real deal. 1
Ken Gargett Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 broncos defence impressive. but rather ordinary game. caught glimpses of the half time show. saw a clip of bruce and thought he'd been called in to save it. unfortunately not. i thought it was about as dull as the game. still, you can't have a cracker every year. carolina have to be wondering what the hell? nice time to pull your worst game of the year. you wonder what is going on when cam show no interest in diving for the fumble. he must have known that if he does not save it, game over.
Ken Gargett Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Game was lost after the coin toss. aren't all games lost after the coin toss? 1
JohnS Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 With Denver just scoring, you'd think it's done now. It take some doing to send the game into overtime.
jwr0201 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 24-10. Broncos. Another win for PM before he retires. Congrats to the Broncos defense!
WhiteMamba Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 I'm glad I have a few boxes of cigars that should come in this week to lighten my mood from the loss
Bill Hayes Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Newton looking after himself and not diving for the ball equaled game over! Funny to see though, in such a huge match with so much money involved that many of the players got their footwear wrong in the first half. Maybe they aren't allowed to test the surface before the match or they just plain got it wrong. Anyway, scrappy match but a feel good story for Manning.
LLC Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Both teams made a fair number of mistakes but Denver's dominate defense was the difference.
rckymtn22 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Yawn, poor play calling by the Panthers. To many mistakes against that defence, at least they gave the MVP to the right guy 1
JohnS Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Congratulations to the Broncos. I didn't see the second quarter. Did Carolina have a chance to go field goal at all in the back half (i.e with 7 munutes left and less) and not take it? You'd think 13-10 down at halftime may have made a difference to the final result.
TonyAccardo Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 People are going nuts in the streets here. My brother and I went up to his top deck three stories up in N Highland Park and you can see the whole city and hear the whole city. It's pretty neat.
Ken Gargett Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Of course. I just thought it was a mistake to give Denver a chance to score first and then shut things down. understand (actually, i assumed that was what you meant and i was being an unnecessary smartarse). given the number who defer these days, and the quality of the carolina defence, i'd have done the same. for me, the problem was that disgraceful no-catch call. i was leaning to carolina but not all that fussed either way. was hoping for a good game. but i thought that carolina copped some seriously dodgy calls. almost as though there was a conspiracy to send PM out a winner. not saying there was, of course. but that call does not go against them, they are marching up field instead of being 7-0 down. who knows then. 1
