I had an experience last November. I was sitting on my back deck smocking a cigar and watching a bit of TV when lightning struck only 50 meters from where I was sitting. I think I screamed like a girl and uttered a few expletives. I felt the shock wave though my body as the surge took out our modem and a few other electronic devices in the house. One or two additional grey hairs were added that day.

Nature is grand and don't forget it.

Speaking of your deck, it's a pity the boys only ever recorded that one afternoon's videos there. It seemed to me the most civilized of places! An actual table laden with proper victuals, a relaxed setting, and a reasonable amount of nature.
