Snowshoes, no bugs, your cigar collection gets a 3-6 month aging boost, and winter separates the strong from the weak!

A nice clean blanket of snow for Christmas. Otherwise my favourite part is when it's over. The older I get the less tolerable of winter I become.

Here in SoCal, winter equates to occasional rainstorms and beautiful crisp weather in between. Less smog. Beaches deserted. And access to true winter scenery (like the Sierra Nevada scenery in the original pic) is close by...

Skiing with my 5 yo boy has been great this winter.

As another poster stated, my cigar consumption goes way down, allowing for ageing and some funds to recover!

The thing I like best about winter is when it's over. It put a huge pause on my cigar enjoyment . That coupled with lower amounts of sunshine makes me cranky.

Peace

Winter here in Florida is awesome! We get nice cool days around 60 to 72 degrees with evenings from 50's to 60's.

Finally have an opportunity to enjoy our cigars outside in the cool. Gives us a break from the summer heat (95-98). At least we have the beaches close by for cooling off in the summer, but cigars outside in summer are a little less enjoyable.

If I was in Wisconsin I woukd be cross country skiing everyday and ice fishing. Growing up in NH and alpine skiing every day meant winters did not suck.

I love that it's about over.

Ya know, I lived in southern Florida for 7 years and just moved to Denver about 7 months ago. I was born and raised in Iowa so I'm used to harsh winters. Always hated them and it's why I moved down to Florida for a time. But just the other day I was sitting in my car and thinking about how much I love the winter being back in my life and how it not only does not bother me but I actually enjoy it and welcome it. There's something about the seasonal changes that keeps a man sane and when I'm in an environment where the weather basically stays the same all year long, it makes one a little batty!!!

For the guys who are in the Northern States, I can understand why you can't wait for warmer weather to get here. Sometimes it's a bit much.

In UAE our winters are between 10 and 20c so it's one of the few times in a year we can sit outside and have a nice cigar and grab a book and really take in the outdoors. Smoking in summer means sitting indoors and that just isn't the same feeling imo.

I love every thing about winter especially at the moment we have 7 days of 40.c +

It's always easier to warm up than cool down

I like winter. The rugby and football seasons are well underway in the UK and skiing is always good. But I must admit that I am looking forward to it getting a bit warmer. It turns out that two months of -30 to -40 c is as enjoyable as it sounds!

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Had cold snowy winters my whole life and for the forseeable future. They suck.

You make me think of when I read David Carradine's autobiography when he talked about spending his childhood in the northern part of the country (Colorado, I think), and how cold it was. He said he was always a wayward kid, and the adults were always trying to scare kids in that day by threatening them with Hell Fire if they didn't behave. And he said as cold as he stayed that didn't sound like too bad a place at all! He said, "If they'd have told me Hell was gonna be a cold place I might've been a better kid!"
