Drguano Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 I have the day off and the temp is up to -1°C so I had a look in the box and this guy caught my eye.Out on the porch with the cat, some Makers 46 and a volume of letters from Hunter S Thompson. The cigar is bloody magnificent. I finally get Rob's shortbread taste. I would compare it to my departed Mum's honey cake. Perfect with the sweet notes of the Makers. 2
ayepatz Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 I got a box of these last year and have only smoked one so far, but it was an absolute belter. Thanks for the inspiration to revisit and see how they're doing!
Mr.T Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Great way to spend your day off! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
westg Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 don't need books and other bits and pieces just the cigar and your cat ...gotta include the cat . Probably my favourite regional . .
godpheonix Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 had my second one last summer. great smoke and i was getting that peanut butter taste that Rob was talking about. overall though its a bit closed in flavors. more to come as it ages i think.
Randolph Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I smoked a Sabrosos late last year while at a conference in Perth. On a lovely balmy night it was an absolute pleasure. Rich, hearty, full, aromatic, and offering an abundance of smoke - just how I like my cigars. They are expensive, but a nice treat once in a while. I've just finished a Trinidad Fundedores 2007 while sitting out doors watching a passing lighting storm. After a very hard working week dealing with drama after drama my cigar was my solstice. A friend said to me why pay $200 sitting with a therapist when you get more relaxation and sanctuary out of a $25 cigar! 1

Drguano Posted January 30, 2016 Author Posted January 30, 2016 The Makers 46 has a nice sweet and sour thing going. Very mellow to me. Went very well with the cigar.
sikfrayme Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Drguano you've inspired me to break out a Sabrosos and glass of makers 46 this Saturday evening here in Southern California after the rain. Have some old Havana music playing. Life is grand. Wish you all a great weekend!!!
awkwardPause Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Looking to snag a box of these that popped up and wondering if anyone out there can comment on how they're coming along 6-7 years down the road now? Would hate for them to be on the down turn after their prime. Any legs left? Cheers!
