I've heard that The Glenlivet 12 has been replaced by the Founder's Reserve in most markets. Does anybody know if it'll be eventually discontinued in all markets. Also, anybody know if Eagle Rare 10 and EC12 will be headed toward a NAS anytime soon? Eagle Rare is probably my favorite sub-$30 bourbons. If it's going NAS, I definitely want to stock up.

I haven't heard anything about Glenlivet 12 being discontinued (not that I pay a ridiculous amount of attention) but it would seem unlikely since it is one of the most popular single malt scotches. It's my go to for when I don't want to break the bank or when I'm not in the mood for peat.

Eagle Rare removed it's age statement a few years ago, is it still supposed to be 10 years old?

Overall, I am stocking up on age statement whiskys/bourbons that I enjoy. Trying to build an inventory where I have at least 3 bottles of something I really like. It's a similar approach that I took to cigars where I want to get to a point where, mathematically, if I did not buy another bottle of scotch/bourbon, I would be fine.

In terms of brands, I am stocking up on

Highland Park

Macallan

Glendonach

Balvenie

*****

Hibiki

Buffalo Trace (blanket statement for all of their offerings)

Glenfarclas

Eagle Rare has not removed the age statement as of yet. It was relocated it to the rear label. They have however switched it to a small batch product over the previous single barrel product.
