Looks great!

We had a sales meeting there once... Attendance in the mornings was - shall we say lacking.... :lookaround:.

Did you resist the ping pong shows? :innocent:

Not on our bucket list but one of the great things about travelling with Di is that she is up to see anything.

Yeah - not a must-do. The touts are super-aggressive, though. Some of my less experienced colleagues at said sales meeting couldn't resist - they lost their innocence that day ;)

Horseshoe Crabs? They eat those things there?!?

Happy New Year Rob and Diana! Looks like you're having a fine time!

How long are you there for? We are headed there in Early Feb. but I imagine FOH might need you back by then.

Love the "smoking laws" in Thailand. Have a great time!

Smart man - keeping the boss lady happy! Hope you all have a great time. Have to say, it does look like you two do that lifestyle well! BTW - what the hell do they do with horseshoe crabs?

The eggs when barbecued are quite a treat apparently. Not sure about the meat though.

I heard that their blue colored blood is sold for quite a sum to labs in Western countries.

It is day 4 in Phuket Thailand and feels like we have been here fro a month!

Di and I are having a great time and we are looking forwar to catching up with Adam today at his beachhouse 20 minutes north of Patong.

Apologues for not posting on the forum as much as planned but we have been flat out from dawn to .....well...dawn. lol3.gif

The best way to describe Patong is "Dodge city by the beach". Pretty much anything goes here.

if you are looking for a little bit of natural beauty and down/relax time....there are plenty of options with some of the best beaches (North and South of Patong)and tropical habitat in the world.

if you are looking to experience some of the craziest ....(and eye opening)....nightlife in the world...then it is on your doorstep lookaround.gif

Di and I thought we would "go hard" early and have packed in/ticked off the touristy things n the first week. Monkeys/Elephants/Shopping/food markets/boats to the islands/snorkelling reefs/long walks on the beaches/bars.

You can smoke a cigar everywhere, anywhere and at any time. From restaurants to the bars there is an ashtray on every table. yesterday morning was a treat having hired an umbrella and a few lounge chairs on the beach ($3 for the day). Smoked a Cohiba Siglo IV and only had to raise my hand before the local beach merchant would arrive with another cold Chang beer for myself and a Smirnoff and Lime for Di. Perfect!

Catch you tomorrow morning for an update ....heading out now ok.gif

What the hell are those wierd ass crab things? And are you baiting monkeys rob!?!?!?

Horseshoe crabs. Their blood, which contains no hemoglobin, is used for bacterial detection in medical applications. They are one of the oldest species still alive today.

For a while it was not recommended to eat the roe of horeseshoe crabs in Thailand, as ther was a spate of tetrodotoxin poisoning.
