Popular Post KB24 Posted December 20, 2015 Popular Post Posted December 20, 2015 So let me start by saying I have never met Hamlet, never spoke or emailed with Hamlet nor know anyone personally that knows Hamlet besides the guys here from FOH. Some of you may have seen my post a couple months back regarding my buddy Travis who played in the NFL for 8 years and reconnecting with him. Well come to find out, Travis is good friends with Dallas Keuchel, Cy Young winner from the Houston Astros. Travis and I were talking a few months back about how he and Dallas were smoking Hamlet's cigars and how they were both huge fans, Dallas especially could not stop raving about them. Well fast forward to a few weeks ago when Dallas won the Cy Young, I asked Travis if I could get something special from Hamlet as a congratulations gift for Dallas, if he thought Dallas would be excited? He said of course. At the time I had no idea if Hamlet would even respond or be willing to do anything as I'm sure he gets requests all the time and he's super busy traveling promoting the new cigars. So I sent Hamlet a message on Facebook and a couple of weeks later I get a message back with a cell number asking if we could talk. Hamlet and I had about a 10 minute conversation where he said he was a huge baseball fan and would be more than willing to send Dallas a box of his favorite size cigars and he would personalize the box. He just so happened to be in Houston that weekend so I was able to arrange for Travis and Dallas to show up for the event at Serious Cigars in Houston. Only problem is that they went to the wrong store on the opposite side of town and needed to get to another holiday party so they didn't end up making the event. In the end, Travis now has the box and will be delivering it to Dallas next week when Dallas gets back in town. Hamlet, I know I've said thank you several times over text messages but I just wanted to thank you again and I look forward to meeting you in person in 2016 when you make it out West to California. Happy Holidays and safe travels as you continue to spread the word about the new line of cigars. Below is a picture of Travis and Dallas the night they went to the wrong store and also a picture of Hamlet with the signed box ready for shipping. Once Dallas has the box, we're going to get a couple Twitter and Instagram posts from him to help spread the word and get people out there buying more Hamlet Tabaquero's!!!!!! -Patrick 6
khomeinist Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Nice story. Classy move by Hamlet but no surprise there. Dallas sounds like a good guy. Yeah. Unfortunately the Hamlet appearance was pretty far from central Houston. I couldn't make it myself.
KB24 Posted December 20, 2015 Author Posted December 20, 2015 Wow. Look at you!!!!! So cool!!!! My stalker's back. I was beginning to miss you.
LLC Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Nice story. Classy move by Hamlet but no surprise there. Agree, hard to find a nicer guy than Hamlet.
smh Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I went to FSU with Travis. Didn't know him personally, but had a couple classes with him. Seemed like a good guy. Glad to see he is doing well in retirement. 1
Hugomarink Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Cool story! So I'm a little out of touch with what's going on with Hamlet. I know he left Cuba and had partnered with Rocky Patel to make cigars. Is there a Hamlet cigar out there now that's for sale? I know I can Google it, but just wondering if anybody has tried it and how it is?
CanuckSARTech Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Very cool of all. Well done. I cry a little bit though for all those that won't know what a "true Hamlet" tastes like. 1
Puros Y Vino Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Cool story! So I'm a little out of touch with what's going on with Hamlet. I know he left Cuba and had partnered with Rocky Patel to make cigars. Is there a Hamlet cigar out there now that's for sale? I know I can Google it, but just wondering if anybody has tried it and how it is? He has a line called Tabaquero. Various vitolas. Did a review of the Robusto here. Pretty damn good for an NC.
Orion21 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Thanks Frank!!! I had been told by my local cigar shop that the chance of seeing these was very remote. I just bought a box of the robusto and really look forward to trying them. Cheers!
KB24 Posted February 9, 2016 Author Posted February 9, 2016 So we were finally able to get Dallas the box of cigars signed by Hamlet. Dallas was very excited and tweeted about it that day. Although I think he was limited in what he could say per rules and regulations as a professional athlete. Hamlet also posted the picture to his Instagram and Facebook pages as well. Thanks again Hamlet for making this happen! Look forward to meeting you if/when you come to Los Angeles. 2
maxcjs0101 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Very cool of all. Well done. I cry a little bit though for all those that won't know what a "true Hamlet" tastes like. I've never tasted or seen any including his latest tabaquero line. Its almost impossible to get hold of one where i come from.
El Presidente Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I've never tasted or seen any including his latest tabaquero line. Its almost impossible to get hold of one where i come from. I have 2000 of his cigars coming next month. Corona/Robusto/Salomone. I will do a six pack sampler when they arrive. All sweet. 2
Orion21 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Rob, Have you had a chance to sample his line yet? If so can you compare it to anything?
