Beautiful appearance with a nicely packed foot. V cut with my xikar cutter

Prelight draw of hay and barnyard, with a touch of sweet honey.

1st third: Initial few puffs are a bit strong with toasted tobacco and a black tea tannin coming through. It's burning a burning a bit hot, despite the slow smoking pace. Burnt sugar levels a beginning to develop.

Roughly and inch in, she starts to settle in.

A creamy toasted tobacco note opens, along with some dashes of white pepper.

Toasted tobacco continues through. Burnt sugar/caramel starting to develop. Almost through the first third, as the first ash is dropped.

Second third.

The reteohale is paying dividends to the sweet caramel note. White pepper is fading. Body has lightened up from medium to medium light, with some of the toasted tobacco giving way to dusty cedar. Burn is getting a bit wonky, likely from the 80% humidity and 10 mph winds. No touch up yet, looks like it will correct itself. Dusty cedar was only a shooting star. Here and gone. Toasted tobacco takes over again .

The final third brings the toasted tobacco along with it, and including a building sweetness and strength. The burn turns a bit hot with about 1.5 inches to go, so I lay it in the ashtray as its final resting place.

I love the plpc, have smoked through half the cabinet already. I love that they offer a no-nonsense approach to delicious tobacco and natural sweetness. Excited to see how these will continue to smoke over the next few months.

Black tea, toasted tobacco and caramel. You've nailed the flavour profile of these. Some like these young, with some bite or 'mongrel', whereas others like them aged so the caramel comes out more. Either way, they're great! Thanks for the review.
