Kurt
FoH, I've ordered my new 238 liter thermo electric humidor today and I am very excited. The Humidor includes Beech wood trays but Cedar is an option. The Spanish cedar is about 50 dollars a tray more than the beech wood.. any opinions or words of wisdom? stogieluver
I'm not as worldly or traveled as most here, but I've never heard of anything but Spanish cedar in cigar humidors.
LLC
Considering this is something you are sure to enjoy for a long time I would go with the the Spanish cedar.

Fugu
Beech wood can have a faint but very distinctive smell. In the long-term it might affect your cigars. So, unless this is a variety that comes rather “neutral” – which I guess you can’t check in advance – I’d invest the extra coin and go for cedro. Also poorer insect-repellent and hygro-regulatory properties comp to cedro.

irratebass
I'm with the rest of the gang....Spanish cedar, don't make the mistake of not investing properly due to funds.....save a little bit more and do it right for your own piece of mind
