Fugu Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Uhh, that this glorious thread (initiating the great flippers debate) has been revived... Reminds me to urgently smoke another one before quickly restocking...
Kbb Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Just at Fincato 2 hours ago. They had 7 boxes in the #2170 out of 4000 range. Just FYI.
john007 Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 This release was one that really disappointed me, was so far off from the first release. Talk about a elegant cigar, the Don falls way short imho.
oliverdst Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016 Like Selectos Finos, Don Jose will have a jar as well.
Habana Mike Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I've smoked these off and on fairly regularly since release and find the blend's strength and complexity quite to my taste.... 3
s1911 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I think they're great! bought a box a few months ago, had two thus far and both were wonderful, I'm sure they're only going to get better.

Habana Mike Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Shame it will be a shorter and fatter jar but probably still nice....

Or they will use the same jar they used for the Selectos Finos. That contains 30 Selectos Finos so it has enough space to hold 25 Don Joses.

Fugu Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 This thread got me to try another one for checking its progress a year after boxing. Actually interesting, as this stick appeared fresher, to not say a bit "greener", than the ones I had before. Excellent construction as always, snug draw as I like it, and still that slightly difficult and not always self-correcting burn of the wrapper. However, in the case of this cigar I am sure that will smooth out given time. Attest them a long life. Good to excellent so far! In celebration of a memorable day - saluting all my American friends!
Orion21 Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 These were really really good fresh. I smoked a few and haven't touched them since April. I view them like a view my RACF. Excellent cigars I won't have the opportunity to buy anytime soon, so enjoy them but stash a few away for the future.
RDBM Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 A fine smoke with lots of potential but I feel they still need some time.

Lotusguy Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 From Instagram, 400 jarsNice, fat pot. I like it. Price I heard is rather steep but considering that the regular Don Jose box runs 375 euros already, not terribly surprising. Also, you get two boxes and a jar for your 1k if my information is correct.
TheMonk Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Jar looks really nice! Does anyone know how many cigars it will hold?

Sometimes a young cigar get's worse as you get to the final third but mine got better throughout the experience. More floral than woody with some sweetness to it.
