El Presidente Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I had a question from a new this morning asking what cigar apps I use. The answer is none ....so I am no use If members have found that ther are using (or have successfully used) any Cigar Apps (iphone or Android), can you let us know. I will shoot him a link to this thread. If you are using one (or more), let us know what you enjoy about it. Much appreciated
KGM Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I like the virtual humidor at cigargeeks.com. EDIT: Oh, and the cigar database has been a great tool.

Guest photorob Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 +1 for Cigar Geeks...the app is ok, but the virtual humidor on web browser is the real star.
PapaDisco Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I'm also pretty old school. I keep my orders and shipping on an excel spreadsheet just to try and keep up with it all, but that's about it. 1
polarbear Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Habanos SA Used to have an app for iPhone that had a full list of reg production sticks as well as detailed band and box art to help spot fakes in the field Not sure if it still exists as I switched to Android a few years back and its not on both platforms Wasn't there talk of a CCW app in the works? I'd actually pay for that
DropTopDee Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 i use a very basic app called my humidor. you have to manually enter everything so i wouldnt recommend it if you have a nice size collection. not 100% sure but it may be available for android OS only
JohnS Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 My inventory is recorded using Cuban Cigar Website's Collection feature. I swear by it. You just need to register and away you go...it's easy to set up and use. As for a Cuban Cigar Website app, I believe Alex did look into it at one stage. 1
Scrubber Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I tried out cigarboss app which was alright but I only use Cuban Cigar Website now. I'd love to see a CCW app Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Paul3 Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Used to use StogieRate, but slowly migrating to Cuban Cigar Website collection management. I used to keep up with each cigar I smoked, but now just add and delete boxes as they come in and/or I finish them off.
GavLew79 Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I use "My Humidor" on Android. No great shakes but it's functional.
hebbe72 Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I do not keep track of my cigars. I enjoy being "surprised" by finding something o totally forgot about in my locker. But one app that is pretty cool is Cigar Rings gauge guide. Do not know if it is for iPhone only or for Andriod aswell. If, for instance, you are given a cigar you can measure the RG manually by placing it on the screen and matching it with you thumb and then find out what RG it is. Also a good way of measuring dodgy cigars.
DoubleshotTimbo Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 An interesting app that has just been recently launched is called My Pocket Puro. It has a great community building and has loads of info which will only get better. It's worth a look!
CigarAsh Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 While not an inventory type app, my only cigar app is "Where To Smoke". Put out by Cigar Aficianado it's a great app to tell where cigar smoking is allowed near you. I've used it on multiple road trips and found some great places. Not sure if it works internationally or not, but for here in the US, it's a must have app for travelers.
PigFish Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I don't need a damn 'smart' phone to smoke a cigar! Turn the effin' thing off, grab a cutter, lighter, beverage... and if you are starved for input, your wife or a few mates... One of these days you will be hacked, and the bastard(s) will turn your Montes to Macanudos and you'll be sorry!!! -LOL -Piggy 4
planetary Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Don't use smartphone apps. I do use a Google Spreadsheet to track my cigar inventory, because I can check it online from anywhere (e.g. when I'm at work deciding whether to buy something on 24:24) and because I like online storage for reliability. Also, I'm a data geek. Sometimes when I'm trying a new cigar (which is often, right now), I'll pull up reviews and commentary on the stick, to compare my findings with others. But I'll tend to do that after the fact when I'm at a computer, not during.

I enjoy having the ability when wandering through a shop and browsing stock to pull up data and reviews. Helps me to make an informed purchase that I will enjoy. I know NC cigars are considered below grade by many, but a lot boutique companies are offering some really tastes products. Reminds me a bit of the craft beer scene to a lesser degree. I enjoy sampling new cigars, but there are so many out there compared to my limited smoking opportunities that it is a bit overwhelming. Information tools to help me winnow down my choices improve the chances that I'm going to enjoy every smoking opportunity I get. Stuff like this just makes my shopping/browsing experiences more enjoyable and my purchases better informed... And love them Flatbeds!

Me, I don't need anyone to tell me what cigar is a good cigar, nor what a good cigar tastes like.... To each his own my friend. When my hip hurts I might chose a cane (a crutch), but otherwise I choose my own two feet! Now if I wanted to use a smart phone while smoking, before smoking or after smoking, I might just call our host here and say Goodday, or surf the Victoria Secret catalog, something important like that...! Take my post(s) with jest mate... I am just having fun with you and the membership most of the time! Cheers! -Piggy 1

I will shoot him a link to this thread. FOH is the ultimate cigar app. The basic and specific knowledge of cigars is boundless. Cheers Rob and the gang, besides I love digging through my humidor not knowing what to expect and pulling out a forgotten gem. Almost like Christmas year round! 1
brschoppe Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I have found the Cigar Aficionado to be out of date or lacking in the Chicago area. Just crank some good tunes off through I-tunes and that is the only app I need. That said I did see you could get a hydrometer with an app interface that allows you to see humidity of your humidor and send notifications if it drops below certain levels. xtcat9k Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I use Cigar Geeks as well. The sync function is an extremely nice feature and their database is pretty extensive. When I add new cigars to their database, it usually gets approved in a day or two.
Habana Mike Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 While CigarSense is not an "app" per se, you can use it with Chrome or Safari. After a few month's use it has really dialed in on my profile and has been spot on with both recommendations and identifying my favorite smokes as top fits.
