"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them." 16
JohnS Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 We had our minute's silence at 11 am today in my workplace. Lest we Forget. 1

ChanceSchmerr Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I attended the service on Sunday at Vimy Ridge Memorial in France this year. A must for any Canadian Serviceman/woman at least once in their life. A terribly moving experience to see how scarred the french landscape is even today - a silent testament to the thousands who died in mere hours, endlessly for years, fighting over a few miles of mud, for what they believed was a higher cause. We remember their sacrifice always. We will remember them. 3

Puros Y Vino Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Unexploded ordnance from WWI means that despite the trees covering over the destroyed landscape, no one but grazing sheep and goats are allowed on certain patches of land. Sorry for the rotated phone camera photos. 001.jpg attachment=57580:002.jpg] Great picture Chris. Always wanted to visit there. Will do so someday. Thanks for your service too. I know you've been active. I'm grateful for those who served in this large, but sparsely populated country of ours. There is a lot to be proud of.
ThatAlfonso Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Thank you to those who served and serve.
jwr0201 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Have to add that this makes us all brothers, despite the thousands of miles that separates us. I am proud of all our men and women who gave all in service of their countries and allies.
