Jeremy Festa Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Heads up guys. These look absolutely radical. Their crowdfunding page is now live here:- https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/les-fines-lames-handcrafted-cigar-knife#/ From Aix in France. Definitely want one! Sent from my iPhone
jabster Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I wanted one until I saw the cost. That killed it for me 3
BuckeyeSmoker Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 those do look great. anyone want to by me one as kind of a 'welcome to the forum' gift?
cigarbreak Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Seen them, curious if you get the same kind of leverage and control while swinging the arm down like you get with a compact xikar cutter or scissors that operate steadily in your hand...i can imagine a lot of slightly diagonal cuts lol
NicintheUK Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I wrote about these some while ago and I think they look beautiful. I'm just terrified I would leave it in my bag and get it confiscated at customs when I was travelling.
Jeremy Festa Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 Very nice..... split one wiv ya J. Too easy. I have it Monday through Wednesday. You have it Thursday through Saturday and we alternate Sundays. I'll order one now. Sent from my iPhone

I'm just terrified I would leave it in my bag and get it confiscated at customs when I was travelling. Same. Also terrified of leaving my finger in the hole while cutting something, for leverage, and then something going wrong. Sent from my iPhone
sastrooper Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I wanted one until I saw the cost. That killed it for me Haha same here, was all about xcited until i saw the price
sharks Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Considered a flick knife out here in Aus I'm afraid
Smallclub Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I really don't like them. Basic piémontais mounting, very common wood (teck de récupération), etc.
KRunch61 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 YIKES!! Didn't I see that in one of the "Saw" movies?! I wouldn't be interested if it was a THIRD of the price.
torsion Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Same. Also terrified of leaving my finger in the hole while cutting something, for leverage, and then something going wrong. Sent from my iPhone Same here! Just saw the price of these and was shocked, I know completely different but I'd rather get an ST.Dupont cutter and lighter combo for around the same. No doubt there will be some hardy collectors that will spend and enjoy using these. 1

busdriver Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Same here! Just saw the price of these and was shocked, I know completely different but I'd rather get an ST.Dupont cutter and lighter combo for around the same. No doubt there will be some hardy collectors that will spend and enjoy using these. I have been following this on IG for a while and was stoked until this price issue. Its a beautiful knife but I doubt it provides much control of cuts plus I would not want to use it as a knife and beat it up if it is my cigar cutter. I want to support this kind of entrepreneurial endeavor however the makers are kidding themselves if they don't consider this a pretty much ultra luxury item. I wish them success but I will need a 70% off coupon before I get mine. 1
khamy Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 should come with a warning. ' Please wear pants when operating ' ... just sayin' ditto on the price..
jp1979 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I am the same as most everyone else... .Was following this on IG and was all set to order one. Opened the email this morning to buy it and when I saw the price I almost **** my pants. I was figuring around 2 bills but $550...
TheLiquidGator Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Scroll down. Reasonable and compact. https://www.etsy.com/listing/218335721/saladini-pocket-cigar-cutter-olive-wood?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_all_products-mid&utm_custom1=4d6a1591-d326-b4c9-2b5f-00004c7dec31&gclid=CPuTrsOn5sgCFQiraQodtv8GCA
MIKA27 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Very nice, unsure what one does with a knife really but very nice indeed. Even if it is pricey
Jeremy Festa Posted October 29, 2015 Author Posted October 29, 2015 Very nice, unsure what one does with a knife really but very nice indeed. Even if it is pricey Seriously Mika? For picnics mang! You and me. And maybe Westy. Picnic in the park. Some saucisson, a hard cheese, heirloom tomatoes, a crusty baguette. A Beaujolais. Maybe a couple frothy beers and some cigars. How is this achieved? brschoppe Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I have always been a fan of the Swiss Army Knife cigar cutter. A little more utility than this handmade one. This seems to be the most robust model they have put out there.... http://www.brookstone.com/victorinox-swiss-army-cigar-79/929965p.html
BMWBen Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Cool idea and knife I just don't see how they can justify that price tag
dicko Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Re the price, I could be wrong but as this is a crowdfunding effort I believe the "packages" are donations of sorts to get it up and running. I imagine once it has been set up the normal retail would be far different price.
mk05 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 A lot of torque goes into single blade cut like that. Never ends well. Get scissors. 1
