El Presidente Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 BRS SEP 13 Sancho Panza Belicoso. You can see the variations of wrappers from the same mastercase from claro to oscuro. Good boxes one and all, just interesting to see. 2
JohnS Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 That's very interesting to see the variation in the colour of the wrappers. I must say, the darkest wrapper in the image above is more uncommon for Cuban cigars than the colorado/colorado claro wrappers. I also have no doubt that those Belicosos cigars will have different flavour profiles too.
skalls Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Rob, which of the different shades do you prefer?
BuckeyeSmoker Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 wow that is very interesting, thanks for the share!
Hohenthal Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Rob, which of the different shades do you prefer? I'm not Rob - but with Sanchos I like the lighter wrappers - maybe that's just me though... cheers, Alex 3
Orion21 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Seen this type of variety through the years with the lower volume cigars. Can you concur Rob?
Jeremy Festa Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 LOVE THEM!!! Thanks for sharing Rob. Makes me want all 3 boxes, so I can learn from the differences. What would be really interesting, is if you have maybe already sampled from said boxes and could let us know!?!?!
El Presidente Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 To my taste, the darker the shade the more cocoa element to the underlying, cream, driftwood saltiness. The darker (and in this case oilier) boxes need to be rested/laid down longer.
Smallclub Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 but with Sanchos I like the lighter wrappers - +1; the oscuro would be my last choice 2
Orion21 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 MY least favorite Habano, but I bought a box of the darkest wrappers I had ever seen. I think Rob is right. If buying these the blend, to me, is very full bodied to begin with. A super dark wrapper with a lot of oil will make these smoke harsh for quite a while, so lay them down for a long time. I would be interested in trying these with lighter wrappers to compare my experiences, since I believe a wrapper can add (or subtract) quite to/from the cigar.
hjmclain22 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I hope these will be up on 24:24 soon. I'm looking to purchase my first box of regular production Sanchos after smoking an Eslavo over the weekend.
Smallclub Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 If buying these the blend, to me, is very full bodied to begin with. The Sancho Panza belicoso, full bodied???? It's light to medium at best, just like the Molinos or the corona gigantes... I've never had a full body SP. 1

I've never had a full body SP. This is from one box... But, every cigar was very full bodied. I shared them with a couple trusted cigar guys and we all agreed they were the most NC like Cuban we had ever smoked. The box was from 2013 with very dark wrappers.
bergaler Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Looks like the boxes of MC2s I got from the Far East.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
hjmclain22 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Rob, will these types of SPBs be available for purchase thru the *****int store!
santela Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Claro here as well. Somehow they just feel "right" with the Sancho.
atlharp Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 The Belicosos are ok, but I really miss the old Bachilleres. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk 2

The darker (and in this case oilier) boxes need to be rested/laid down longer. Have you ever considered mixing (on purpose) a few boxes as samplers? In other words take the same quality sticks from the same mastercase and create a few wrapper sampler boxes. Maybe 1/3 claro, 1/3 oscuro, and 1/3 in between. Would the differences be that noticeable or would they be too subtle and make the experiment a moot point? I realize of course this would take a lot more work and effort so the price should be reflected accordingly.
bergaler Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Or maybe just half and half boxes? I'd be up for a box of those is someone wants to take the other half Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
El Presidente Posted November 11, 2015 Author Posted November 11, 2015 Come and gone. if I come across same quality of Sancho or something similar I am happy to do it (with the different variations)
