Special occasions I'll use the Prorasso Pre Shave cream, Prorasso Aftershave (Alcohol free) and maybe an Alum block.

Guy can start out with a cheap kit though also. Like any other thing nice though a guy will start buying nicer pieces. I would personally like the Merkur Future in chrome for an upgraded razor.

For me bourbon is great, but a lot of nice local micro distillers are putting out some fantastic moonshine sand bourbons...plus other liquor store as well. Something like this that is a little unusual shows forethought and is always appreciated.
