Was always hit and miss. A few good ones..a few horrible ones never enough to really want to go deep on them. Great retro bands and vitola but the blend just didn't do it for me. I've kept one box to

I love this cigar and see tons of aging potential... I see a lot of similarities with the RACF when they were released. People hated them, you were able to purchase them for 239.00 4 years after they

You are absolutely correct. I am not a fan of NC's or DC's, but many here are. This cigar definitely has the bitter taste, and lack of finesse and purity of a 100% cuban cigar...

Love them. The darker the better IMHO. 2 left in my cabinet. Always looking for more

I had another one today, because of all the "I like them" votes here. Bitter and one dimensional ... Reminded me why I don't like them... They do not taste like Cuban cigars at all...

I smoked a 97 Partagas de Partagas before and a 2004 Siglo VI afterwards, and loved them both...

I only had one. Gifted to me by Alejandro who owns LCDH in PDC when I was still living there. It was very enjoyable as memory serves.

I've slowly smoked through a box since release and have another in my locker here. I really like them and I do think they have gotten better over the last 12-18 months. I've noticed a few people mention a bitter/acrid flavour, I find that the wrapper of this cigar seems to really hold moisture for some reason so it's a cigar I always drybox for a day before smoking.

I love them. Mine went through a sick period, about a year, where they were really turning me off. I have been smoking a few a month for the last little while. I started out with five boxes and am now working through the third one. Some people have mentioned the RA Extra reminds them of NCs If that is the case I would be interested in sampling some of those NCs to see for myself.

I bought a 5-er of these when they were released and I smoked a couple after a 3-4 month nap in my humidor. I remember thinking they weren't very Cuban when I smoked them. Like they tried their hand at blending an NC cigar that reminded me of a Fuente or My Father Le Bijou. I smoked the last three over the last couple of years and while not bad I didn't like them all that much. I absolutely didn't get any sort of RA flavors at all. I am kind of surprised by the 75/25 like/not like ratio. But when I think about it, considering so many FoH members aren't American, I can see why so many might like it - different can be good. Even if you are American the RA 2011 would be considered an excellent NC, so if you really like NC's then you would like the RA 2011. I hate to say it, but I think I am becoming more and more a Cuban cigar purist. I don't like NC's and Cuban's that remind me of NC's kind of make me mad!pooped.gif

Normally I love anything Ramon Allones, but I have tried a handful of these all from different boxes and did not enjoy any.

Personally, I'm a bit impartial but do admit the retro white bands do have a part in the allure of them. I think they're a good cigar, but not one I'd necessarily go out of my way to hunt down nor pay too much of a premium for. But I can't lie... if someone were to offer me a box slightly over retail, I'd probably grab them yes.gif

My friends and I refer to this stick as "Baby's milk" lol. After a baby has had their milk they fall asleep almost instantly. That's how we feel after we smoke this cigar. That being said, I've already smoked through one box and have another resting in the cabinet.

These seem to come up for discussion about once a year or so. Thought I was more in the minority, as being one who loves them.

I've only had/have one box that was so-so. I find that these really REALLY need to have dark, oily wrappers, and a pungent aroma to them. Pretty much all boxes that I've sourced out have hit that mark for me. Some stellar O.R. boxes from Czar's(one HQ and two PSP, I think), and even a couple of PSP boxes that I've traded from other members on here who weren't big fans. Think I've got 6 boxes down for a deep sleep, been through one whole one, and have another two boxes that are about mid-way through on each. I can't recall exactly, but I think the lowest has scored about an 87 for me, with most in the 91-94 range.

I'd also agree with Gary. They did hit a bit of a "funk" in time, but in the last year or two, they've climbed nicely out of that, and definitely seem to keep on getting better. These will be stellar throughout the long-run, methinks.

Cracked my box today. Draw was tight. Ended up cutting about a cm off the head to get a better draw. Very nice cigar otherwise! Everything I want in a cigar. No spice. Started out with chocolate and bread. Then the bread gave way to more cedar/wood flavours. Very nice smoke. Love the size too!

The Vote is surprising to me. I'd have thought it was reversed!

I've two boxes but have wavered back and forth as to whether to smoke, sell/trade or age longer. I should smoke a recent single and see how they are now.

Haven't had the pleasure of smoking one yet. It sounds like they taste like a nc man o war or some type of pepin stick.

Notes from one box: Really enjoyed these when they were fresh. Over time they just faded, and so did my enthusiasm. I don't need a strong cigar, but I do need flavour. Perhaps I should have been more patient as some have stated they experienced a funk before coming back to life. Loved the size though.

I won't refuse one, but I'm voting the no side.
