NJP Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Maybe I'll get them one day but not so far. The last box I have can stay hidden for now.
Deodato Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Not a lover by any stretch. Every time I spark one up it tastes like an ashtray to me. Cool band though.
Surucipe Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Lover here, and they do seem to get better with time. I am slowly going through a box, smoking one every 4 months or so. 1
alpyigit Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Big fan here and I know I am within the minority. Have some stock that I am consuming once a month, the topic is a good reminder to fire one this weekend..
amosnaim Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I loved them, but found them to be inconsistent. Some great ones with fruitiness and choclate combined in a full body, and some just brutal. Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
RijkdeGooier Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 When I smoked them last about 4 months ago, they started coming around more towards my tastes. The extreme heavy acrid aftertaste was fading
maverickdrinker Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Haven't smoked one in awhile. Will fire one up this weekend and see how it doing. 1
jp1979 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I like them... I am surprise at the poll results to be perfectly honest. I always thought I was in the minority
mgravito Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I'm a fan. It's a different enough cigar to enjoy one in a while. I've picked up a few fivers here and there. I just don't like the price. Good enough for a few but I can't see myself hoarding them. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
backslide Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I love this cigar and see tons of aging potential... I see a lot of similarities with the RACF when they were released. People hated them, you were able to purchase them for 239.00 4 years after they were released. Something magical happened to them around mid 2013, they went from crap to greatness. I have a feeling this will happen again with the RAAE Sent from my Nexus 5 2
LLC Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Had one earlier today and it was great. Really liked the first couple of boxes when they first came out and then they seemed to lose something. Not sure if they were just not as good or if was a bad period for them but the most recent box has reminded me why I like them so much. 1
rmill3r Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 I'm right there with you, Mike. Only burned a handful, with a couple held in reserve, but think you're dead-on with that description. I had to double take for a second...
MIKA27 Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Probably not a fair statement considering I only tried one, but I really disliked it.
squizz Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Never had the chance to try one sadly. I got in the game too late.
mk05 Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Then he [Pepin Garcia] is asked to blend the perfect cigar in his head. He smiles broadly at the question, and says without hesitation that it would be a combination of Cuban-seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Estelí and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Río. "That cigar," he says with pride, "would score 100 points." And we have that in RA Extra. LOL http://www.cigaraficionado.com/webfeatures/show/id/The-Next-Big-Thing-in-Cigars-Pepin_6220
thecrowder Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I also found them to be good, but, inconsistent. I smoked through a box over a month and it seemed like I'd really enjoy one and then the next night it was pretty blah and then the next night it was really good. I loved them, but found them to be inconsistent. Some great ones with fruitiness and choclate combined in a full body, and some just brutal.Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
Hoepssa Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Vote "YES" but the flavor is easily pick in NC indeed. Smoke few, Have one full box, several times almost hands in (picking them to burn) but freezed!
dangolf18 Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Out of 10 I smoked, 2 were good. The flavor just wasn't there on most of them. I guess it's a luck of the draw with the box you get.
nick2021 Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I enjoy this cigar, wish I had gotten two boxes when the price was right.
alpyigit Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 While on the subject... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1
