forgop Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Started a new med 3 weeks ago and only smoked 2 cigars since. My BBF and HU2 seemed less enjoyable than normal. Bummer. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
earthson Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Depends on the med! I had some pain killers prescribed after a minor outpatient surgery earlier this year and they made me pull out my longest sticks to while away the itchies out on the back porch.
FHFinster Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 The PSP Boli CJr I'm currently nubbing is my med. And man, it's gooooood.

btp1979 Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I had some dental work done about 8yrs ago and had to use a medicated mouth wash 4 times a day for 2 weeks. Screwed up my palate for about 2 months (dentist warned me it would happen). It didn't matter what I tried to smoke, everything was flat. I was scared for a while lol (about 2 months)
Fosgate Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Yes. I was on a med for a couple months that left a metallic taste in my mouth that I simply could not enjoy a cigar while I was on it.
Nrengle Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Well when you have pneumonia I don't think the meds make me want to not smoke. This is a real ***** right now on the road. Last two days off we've had I spent in the hospital. And then working show days though taking it easy. And then the pyro and fog aren't helping. Having to wear a surgical mask on stage. Hope I can light up soon. Will be home in a week and will be last time it's warm for the year...
polarbear Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Anyone tried smoking a cigar while on (or after finishing a course of) champix, or any other type of Quit Smoking Medication?
mash Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Lots of medications cause xerostomia, a really dry mouth. This will negatively impact your taste as well.
forgop Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 Most antibiotics put me off of cigars throughout their course plus a few days.I'd wager that it's the condition antibiotics are used to fix than the antibiotics themselves. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
ElAbogado Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Pepto-Bismol always messes with my palate for a day or a day and a half after taking it. Makes cigars taste overly 'yeasty'.

forgop Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 never. just the flu itself. maybe strong medicines. Well, I'll just say when one of the uses is to stop smoking, I can see why. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
KB24 Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Any painkiller has me sprawled out on a couch or bed with no interest in smoking at all.
