“We’re talking about doing a nightclub here, a high-energy Euro-house nightclub with DJs, VJs, laser shows, music, dancing,”

Well I hope the americans that go to Cuba don't act like _holes as they did on the world stage

back in the 90's when "Slick Willie Clinton" ran the show and the US economy was booming.

The money was flowing and the US middle class could afford to travel then just as the Chinese

are doing now and how the Japanese did in the 80's.

LOL

I love the word "Rank!"

Also, love high-energy Euro-house!

But, only after a full day in the sun and many, many drinks.

Everyone does.

Agreed....

Not to worry, not a lot of money flowing here anyway....at least as far as the middle class is concerned.

You'd have to spike my drinks with MDMA to get me dazzlin' the D-Floor to the light fantastic, euro sheek they speak of.

I bet if that club was next door to havanathon, you'd all be gassed to go come midnight!

I am sooo glad I was too young to go out during the disco and electric cowboy era even though it was cool growing up at that time.

When I heard that Obama was planning to drop the embargo I had a strong feeling this would happen. Hope to visit Cuba before it does.

There are two stories here. One how the night clubs and bars are coming. The other is how the venture capital is lining up to invest in Cuba. With the amount of blue collar jobs in Cuba and low wages, it could siphon off some of the manufacturing business from China where wages have been rising. If that happens...what for a channel tunnel like structure from Havana to Key West.

Only an act of CONGRESS can end the embargo. Not Obama. Trust me, it is not going to end anytime in the near future.

Clubs, restaurants, golf courses, rich and poor. Stinkin' Cubans, Euros, Asian Pacifists! All happening with the Cuban government loosening control, well before any change in U.S. policy. Shame on Cubans for being what they'd like to be.

He doesn't have to end it he can go around it, with new legislation via executive orders he can keep the embargo but make it meaningless with new acts/measures.

The embargo would still be on the books but have no effect if he decides to go down that route and sign it through on his last day in office for his legacy.

Just saying, he can get whatever he wants legally and leave it for the next lot to sort out the mess.

Obama can't do it by himself by executive order. In order to fully lift the embargo it takes an act of congress, along with reversing certain clauses that ensured to keep the embargo in place. I think in this republican dominant congress it won't happen, maybe even if there was a democratic majority.
