dangolf18 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Reviewing a slightly aged H. Upmann Petit corona. Box code is UPE May 13. Got the box from Rob. Aroma and color: Light, colorado wrapper. Definitely box-pressed. There are not noticeable green spots which is great. Wrapper is great. Pre-light aroma is subtle but oh so good. Cedar, barnyard, and sweetness are predominant. Can’t wait to light this baby up. 1/3: Flavors are good right off the bat. I detect some spiciness and earthiness as well as cedar and cream. Classic, distinctive Upmann flavor profile. I think this vitola best displays the H.Upmann flavor profile. 2/3: I can really pick up barnyard taste as well as coffee in the 2nd third. This smoke is moving away from light-medium bodied to medium-bodied. Aroma is heavenly and I’ve found that retrohaling with this cigar is quite enjoyable. This cigar is quite well balanced. Very rich pleasant flavors so far. 3/3: Pungent and barnyardy. Cream and coffee picking up quite a bit. Also getting loads of leather and cedar. Towards the end it's gotten a tad harsh, but nothing too unenjoyable. A few more years of age will surely soften out the hard edges. Verdict: Great smoke. I can see this cigar getting better over time. I’ll probably be getting a few more boxes to lay down. 92/100.
