Ken Gargett Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 auntie mame! christ. i do know that 'the enemy below' was also playing. with robert mitchum, kiurt jurgens and doug mclure. shows how long films took to be shown in australia back then as it was made several years before i was born. i know this as mum and dad were at the flicks watching this when i decided to arrive (i was quite a bit late - i put it down to being determined to be born in a great vintage - '59 - rather than an utter crap one - '58). unfortunate title in the circumstances. anyway, dad rushed mum off to hospital and out i popped. dad went back to the cinema a night or two later and explained what had happened and got them to let him in to watch the finish of the film.
